Darn my ice storm did a DISMEMBER. By the time he's at quite a few wounds i'm pretty hurt. He must've upped his saves even more.

That's what won you the fight. No idea how it broke ... probably luck.

Also, have you tried wielding your chaos blade, holding a stave and using call lightning?

I had no idea the Nexus T skill affected mental vulns.  Thought it was only afflictive vulns/resistances.

Dranthos, gotta create more space! I'm sure you weren't used to the damage being dealt towards the end but once you dropped past 50% I'd have been trying to get 3-5 areas away to reset

I think we can talk about T skills?  The reason invokers make powerful reavers is because that T skill that gives +1 afflictives also makes it so the caster avoids resistances, but also avoids vulnerabilities.  So if Phant was fighting a dwarf/halfling, and had the correct demon binding (+1 aff level), that dwarf/halfling would not have any magic resistance.  But on the flip side, if he's fighting an ogre, that ogre also loses their magic vuln (per my understanding).

It sounds like in the case of giants, who have mental vulns, this T skill also negates that.  I think that's what Phant was saying when he suggested his T skill was actually working aganist him...he couldn't land any dispels.

Well, seeing the change in damage, it clearly wasn't IMNSHO. Help files aren't god-spell.

Phanthom, not to be rude, but I distrust stuff. Looking at his EQ, he appears to have AC higher 300 and bad saves. Unless he is removing gear to drop AC.
Actualy looking from the previous log:

Then he flees and you  start to do lower damage.

I would not put past me that he is removing gear to drop AC. It did look like he had sanctuary.
Perhaps forcing him to do it will improve your chances.

I would most like set it up so you can take advantage of it. Then wield a normal weapon and whack away a bit.
Then dispel and re-enable it and spam lightning bolt.

One of lightning bolts advantage is the fast casting that can beat some ppl react time.
For example the Dispel + Call Lightning + HellStream combo.

But first, I would test it on some dwarf mob to be sure it's working as it should.

Anyway just stuff I would do.

Have you tried using jetsteam? You can cast two jetsteams to one hellstream and its surprisingly powerful.

I drop to under -300 with stuff in my backpack.  Fleeing disengages a skill that I usually have on that adds like -50AC.  Usually won't take anything more than a CAPS without Sparks from call lighting less you get a dispel off.  Saves are pretty optimal (high 40s) plus a perma no dispel protection from the hair.

Thanks for confirming. People don't seem to believe me lol.

By Lloth I hate that hair! Allows for a perma no-dispel protective source. I feel you should have to cast it. Anyway I'm pretty sure you'll be burn-proofing it from now on. Then I'll be out of options yet again, having to discover some other way.
