I don't think we should do anything until the introduction to the game has been fixed to be more curated.

If someone tries it now and doesn't get hooked, they won't try again in the future. The beginning hour or so of the game needs to be a heavily scripted, curated experience that showcases the games strengths.

You should be able to go to https://theforsakenlands.com/play and be taken to a web client that gets you straight into the game with a minimal amount of clicks and information entering.

Then it should ask for what name you'd want to go by then all other character choices are made during the introduction WHILE teaching basic movement and commands.

Something like this will drastically increase the chances of any new player logging in a 2nd time.

A webclient is a very easy fix. Grapevine.haus allows a play.xxx.com extension for their webclient.

Newbie zone/ tutorial was on @Lloth s list, but so are lots of things!

Realistically if we want to attract and retain new players we need to bring back some sort of 'mid game' for them to learn in. You cant dump brand new players in at 50 against decked elders who are bored and hungry for a pk, and expect the newbie to have a good time.

I had about nine paragraphs typed in before I proofread and realized 4 hours of sleep in two days isn't exactly the time to write "Why Throwing Money at Problems Doesn't Fix Them".

I'll write a review the week after May 2nd when I finish the semester and just meet you halfway while keeping my mouth shut.

There, that's a win for everybody today.
