EyeSeeU
Don't know how many of you here are Tool fans but I had to put these songs lyrics from their new song "Right In Two" from their new album 10,000 days. Reading it probably won't do it justice, download the song or do Tool a favor and buy the cd. These lyrics may not be totally right but it sounds right to my ears anyways... Angels on the sideline, Puzzled and amused. Why did Father give these humans free will? Now they're all confused. Don't these talking monkeys know that Eden has enough to go around? Plenty in this holy garden, silly monkeys Where there's one you're bound to divide it Right in two Angels on the sideline, Baffled and confused. Father blessed them all with reason, And this is what they choose? Monkey killing monkey killing monkey over pieces of the ground. Silly monkeys give them thumbs they forge a blade And where there's one they're bound to divide it Right in two Monkey killing monkey killing monkey over pieces of the ground. Silly monkeys give them thumbs they make a club, And beat their brother down. How they survive so misguided is a mystery. Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability, To lift an eye to heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here. [Cutting it all right in two / Cut it all right in two] / Cutting our love right in two] (Que in one of the best solo steel drum lines I have ever heard) Fight over the clouds, over wind, over sky Fight over your lie, over blood, over anything Fight over love, over sun, over nothing Fight till they die, (Ahhh!) over what? for their ending Angels on the sideline again, Benched along with patience and reason. Angels on the sideline again, Wondering where this tug of war will end. [Cutting it all right in two / Cut it all right in two] / Cutting our love right in two]
Icor
Is Tool a Christian band or something...? I never listen to them.
Crypticant
Extremely Christian, yes. They adore God, and all its creatures, never do drugs, never talk about the end of the world, and love their parents. I wouldn't listen to them at all. They're super Jesus-crispies. Icor
...But they call people monkeys because people kill each other. Maybe people kill each other because they think they're monkeys. Maybe if people stopped thinking they were monkeys, they would stop killing other people. What I got out of the lyrics was... that they were demonizing the "people are monkeys" ideal, which is COMPLETELY Christian.
EyeSeeU
Let me sum up Maynard in a nutshell... ummm wait thats funny I can't. The song is about us humans, well if we can even call ourselves that anymore. Seriously the song is about our downtrodden as a society. We live for all the wrong reasons these days and I feel sorry for our generation and those to come... I will leave you with this however... "learn to swim!" In his arrogance man thinks he is capable of destroying nature.
Crypticant
Ok... This is Maynard's song about Jesus. You can tell how Christian he is. Also the album is called Aenima. Also, there is a song called Hooker with a Penis on the album. And a song called Stinkfist, which is about anal rape. All extremely Christian concepts, because Christians, of course, have been anally raping humanity for over 2000 years. You claimed all this time that you would die for me Why then are you so suprised to hear your own eulogy? ---- Come down get off your ****ing cross we need the ****ing space to nail up the next fool martyr
Grim_Reefer
The new Tool album seems hella christian, which has lost me as a fan if that is the true demeanor behind it.
EyeSeeU
Since I seem to have hit an interest to atleast a handfull of people I will add another song with the lyrics on the same album, Yes its Tool again, but this time the song is "Vicarious" Eye on the TV 'cause tragedy thrills me Whatever flavor It happens to be Like: "Killed by the husband" "Drowned by the ocean" "Shot by his own son" "She used the poison in his tea and kissed him goodbye" That's my kind of story It's no fun til someone dies Don't look me at like I am a monster Frown out your one face But with the other Stare like a junkie Into the TV Stare like a zombie While the mother, holds her child Watch as they die Hands to the sky cryin, "Why, oh why?" Cause I need to watch things die From a distance Vicariously, I Live while the whole world dies You all need it too - don't lie. Why can't we just admit it? Why can't we just admit it? We won't give pause until the blood is flowin' Neither the brave nor bold Will write us the story so We won't give pause until the blood is flowin' I need to watch things die From a good safe distance Vicariously, I Live while the whole world dies You all feel the same so Why can't we just admit it? Blood like rain fallin' down Drown on grave and ground Part vampire Part warrior Carnivore and voyeur Still have the transmittal, sing to the death rattle La, la, la, la, la, la, la-lie (x4) Credulous at best Your desire to believe in Angels in the hearts of men. But pull your head on out Your head please and give a listen Shouldn't have to say it all again The universe is hostile So impersonal Devour to survive So it is, so it's always been ... We all feed on tragedy It's like blood to a vampire Vicariously, I Live while the whole world dies Much better you than I.
