Not sure what initiated this one but I sure wish I had been able to keep him
fighting in the Forsaken Lands instead of him getting away into town. Might have ended different.

[Trick]

Deakon LOVES using the shadow. I don’t think I’ve fought him without it. He always does the same things in his fights so if you can prepare for that shadow, you’re gonna be well off. 

He will usually set it, and sit still. Scan ALL the time. If you notice he isn’t coming at you, but is 2-3 rooms away it means he is walking with his shadow for the “one trick pony thrust lock madness” most vamps shoot for. Just leave the area. He is the one on the time crunch from the sun and he is the one setting and controlling the encounter with shadow. Don’t play his games. Make him come to you and ditch the shadow.

Try bardiche. Dual wielding is great and all, but if you can defend a bit better you’ll have more chances to get your skills off.

You could try the crusader's sword with a noremove socket. Swords do not defend as well as polearms but hitting a vuln might be worth it.

I tried the vainglory and shield and it did nothing. Might get a heart and the sword just to try though, it can't hurt any worse. I say heart cause I'll never get the damn tear.
