The Order of Crusades You stand amidst the great Cathedral of the Order of Crusades, surrounded by various holy relics and tomes of the One God. The walls and floors are covered in various painted motives, with one dedicated to the battle of Auric, Garamand and Verusitus and their triumph over the Hooded servants of Virigoth. South is the exit from the cathedral, while north lies the main altar.

While a sovereign in power, the title is a reminder of the inferior position of rank. Therefore, the road is not particularly wide, but it more than makes up for this in its comfortable, aesthetic appeal. Regent Avenue continues east from here and leads into Green Square to the west.

The Eastern Gate of Val Miran You stand amid the Eastern battlements of Val Miran. The gate has been fully repaired and expertly reinforced, the surrounding walls look well-built and sturdy. The sigil of several prominent dwarven masons and blacksmiths is displayed proudly on the lowest row of the wall's stones, well visible when passing the gate.

It is a large circle, its boundaries marked by columns and its ground laid with marble. Here is where public deals are struck, orations are given, and a great deal of spectacle takes place. It was ground zero for the catastrophe that was summoned to this land, but there are no signs of that devastation now. What had once been a ruinous crater is now a symbol of life and a flurry of activity. The King's Square is due east, the Northern Commons to the north, the Southern Commons to the south and Green Square to the west. A fountain has been placed in the middle of the square, a true masterpiece of art. Just north of it, a white marble statue has been erected, depicting a very hairy, square, small person. Must be a dwarf. Some graffiti has been surreptitiously placed here, depicting a White Wolf.

The remaining rubble has been removed, the earth has been planted with new bushes and some of the hardier flowers. A beautiful stone path leads through the new plants. The practice field to the north and northwest can be seen over a row of small bushes. Whereas the field is mostly used by the military, Green Square is the people's domain. Still, it sees rough sorts who head through here to get to the Milieu, which is to the northeast of this position. Academy students and researchers can also often be found in this area, as the Academy is in the district to the south of here. Vanguard Point to the west marks the boundary of the inner city limits of Maelbrim.

While a sovereign in power, the title is a reminder of the inferior position of rank. The subtle movement of shadows and the quiet whisper of a shifting wind create a tangible presence like the passage of ghosts from the Prime of Death. An obsidian altar is erected in the center of the temple laden with offerings to the spirits of dead ancestors.

Market Square A remarkable fountain of white marble dominates the Market Square. Streams of fresh, clear water flourishes skyward into a fluid blossom before descending again into the marble base, engraved with intricate designs of ivy. The perpetual sound of flowing water mute the sounds of commerce that thrives with merchants and craftsmen to the east and west of the Square. A majestic crystalline palace can be seen to the north. The Grove of the Unicorn lies to the south where the founders of the city first sighted the wondrous creature.

Seer Point Situated to the south of Maelbrim, Seer Point is little more than a commercial checkpoint. There is no wall or gate, and the transition from countryside to city is seamless. Fearing little militarily from the southern peoples, the leadership of the city does take an interest in their economics. Still, the people of Tarandue and Khorandain are relatively few and rarely travel far from home, so most of the light traffic is composed of peasants and traders. It is a peaceful place a set of rolling foothills that rise into Mt. Khorand to the southwest and level out into the plains to the south and southeast. To the north, the incline flattens off into the plateau on which Maelbrim rests.

The Southern Commons This is one of the places which has been rebuilt last in the Maelbrim reconstruction effort. The southern commons look almost like a small park: a round, cobbled space in the middle is framed by rows of planted flowers and groomed bushes, all spiralling out from the central space in a beautiful pattern. Young trees stand like sentinels at the outer rim of the plaza, once these are grown their branches will provide shade to those enjoying the miniature park in the future. A couple of benches are placed in strategic positions, allowing people to rest while watching either the plants or the business being conducted in the central of the square. A small plume of smoke can be seen to the east, deriving from the Demesne of Fire.

It is a large circle, its boundaries marked by columns and its ground laid with marble. Here is where public deals are struck, orations are given, and a great deal of spectacle takes place. It was ground zero for the catastrophe that was summoned to this land, but there are no signs of that devastation now. What had once been a ruinous crater is now a symbol of life and a flurry of activity. The King's Square is due east, the Northern Commons to the north, the Southern Commons to the south and Green Square to the west. A fountain has been placed in the middle of the square, a true masterpiece of art. Just north of it, a white marble statue has been erected, depicting a very hairy, square, small person. Must be a dwarf. Some graffiti has been surreptitiously placed here, depicting a White Wolf.

Soooo. This is a really long log, but it was all part of one encounter.

Mistakes were made. I think I beheaded him at some point without sanc (there were MASSACRES hitting me every round from the ranged weapon). Also him being in Syndicate meant that recovering was a pain in the butt, especially with the plague from fired weapons sticking to me and preventing hp recovery for a loooong time unless I went to a city healer (which would lag me for quite a while).

I should probably have just escaped there towards the end, but I decided to take a risk and luckily enough it paid off.

Very nerve-wracking battles for me!

My selectables give me a fair bit of hp, crusaders get great hp range on level up, another 49 from perk, plus all the hp from quests (not a trivial amount).

The constructive answer would have been:

You get more hp with higher con, but it's also strongly depending on your class (e.g. serks get way more than a mage of the same race). You can also get a bit more via perk, 1 practicing, going adventurer first and using trains / practices from quests.

I am pretty sure he knows that already, since his question wasn't "Why does he have so much HP".

He was responding to @Azravik's comment about "knowledge". Azravik meant Leilanana has the knowledge and know-how to achieve 1300 and tarako took it as Azravik meant Int/wis, he responded with " I thought con was hp. "

Atticus asked the original question.

I guess I was genuinely hoping for constructive feedback/tips/commentary, and not so much random derails about Trump's position on global warming, discourse about the many ways to increase hit points, and what seems to be a few snippy remarks between forum members.

I mean it's a behead crusader. Behead murder rush and impale. It's a decent log sure but what do you want? You won. Post a log where you lose and ask why, you got plenty going for you so idk why you're pouting

Okay, since you have no idea why I am pouting, I suppose I will write it out in a few more words. 😊

I've seen so many threads derailed by people taking cheap shots at each other, when it's actually really easy to be helpful or at the very least polite.

I posted this log because I was pretty much losing to Gimblee for so long, and his cabal skill made it difficult to escape long enough to recover and heal up. But if the only advice you can give 'it's a behead crusader - unless you're losing there's nothing I can tell you', then I definitely feel there is very little point in posting here. But again, that's secondary to the weird attitude people seem to have when posting on the forums.

Hope that clarified it a bit for you. ☺️

Your best bet really, knowing he can track you is to push him off. Polearm of course. Melee vs melee you got the upper hand on defense with said polearm, using the scrolls of tuo I would personally fake hurt while wearing him down, one he's quite a few behead impale him into water. Rush down .

Abuse scrolls of tuo and location of fight.

I didn't mean to sound negative about anything, I was impressed you squeezed out 1300hp from an elf,, and applaud the ingenuity needed to do it. Also the log is a good read as well. Long fought battles are are always super satisfying.
