P_body
Using zMUD, command line text doesn't show as I type, only after I type. (I have the setting where after I hit enter the command input gets highlighted no cleared). I remember dealing with this issue years ago, and there was some setting to enable viewing the text in the command line while typing...Can't find it anywhere now. Just to be clear, this is not about command input/output to the MUD. I'm talking about within the client, zMUD, as I type into the command line. Anyone got any ideas what's going on? 'tarako
Probably your background and text colors match?
Seravin
It could be local echo is off?
P_body
Can you have a background and text colors in the command line? I couldn't see where to change those colors, only the output text colors....any more help on that @Tarako

Tempirion
I use #cw gold to do highlights or #play doing.wav for sound triggers but it does sound like an echo setting

Seravin
Also, oddly enough, I had to turn off my f.lux settings when on the mud cause it would blend my colors so I couldn’t see things.
Magick
This is unusual. Is it not printing on the command line at all or is there just a long delay before it does? Are you running software in the background? There have been issues where Malwarebytes interferes with the command line, causing typing lag. Also, does it happen on just this session or across all of them, even fresh ones?
P_body
@Magick Tl;Dr On a Mac using wine. Think I'm just screwed. Any Mac mud client suggestions? before I get into details, just wanna clarity. There is no: 1) setting to turn on/off for text to appear in command line while typing. 2) setting to change font/foreground background colors of command line input. because I’d this is a bug I’m screwed. Here’s why: I'm actually on a Mac running wine to intermediate and allow me to run zmud on a Mac. Too many years running zmud. Don't think I could switch to another client, tried too, but for Mac options seem very limited. Symptoms: -not a delay. They straight don't show up. Looks like it might be a text color thing, because when I can paste, nothing shows up but I do get a spell check editor in command line showing red squiggly lines but no text. What I think might be the problem is wine. Sometimes the screen flickers and duplicate images overlap in the client. E.g. Trying to select any buttons, the buttons have duplicate echos...so could be a visual thing where an "empty" image of the command line is overlapping the real command line. 'tarako
Honestly I'd recommend switching to wintin or mushclient. There is alot of effort for plug-ins and scripts for both on the forum

P_body
Then I'm dealing with same issues I'm having with zmud. Zmud is better than mush..
'tarako
I dunno if it's better. They all do the same thing. I just know mush has world files people have already made with tick timers targeting aliases for macros etc
P_body
Yeah. I have all the same I ade for zmud. Still have my old settings files. All the triggers aliases, targeting alias, and macros etc. So I'm invested. Don't Wanna start over...but mush does look interesting
Magick
I've quite a bit for cmud and leftovers for Zmud. It does sound like it's a problem with wine. I think there's an issue with their forums right now and will have to dog later, but it may not be a unique situation.
P_body
@magick Looks like the first letter, if I stop there, appears. Then if I type two letters, all the letters disappear from the command line. Seems it's not just an issue with Wine, I also had the same problem with the bottler "CrossOver". Exact same behavior with zMUD. Any thoughts? I've beeen looking for another Mac MUD client, and there just isn't a reliable, full featured option that will give me colored triggers, aliases and some macros. wtf....Unless I'm missing something. Then please do share a viable option.

Ryl
Never have, no. I just installed it out of the box and it works beautifully.
