Just lost my job due to what they want to call fraud. Told me they are going to take it to the police unless I tell them who has been stealing from the store, and what parts I've had my hands in. Of course I have no idea who has been stealing so I am getting pinned for most of it. Theft they really can't pin on me cause I didn't do it so I'm not too scared, but this fraud part is stupid. One little mistake. Oh well, if they want to press charges for 25$ refund whatever.

#1 They can't fire you because you wont tell them what you don't know.

#2 They can file fraud, it is quite easy, because like you said one mistake. They have to find a judge willing to give a rats about $25 though. If they take you to court let me know, I'll give you a secret that will make them spend $500-$1000 easy in extra court costs :)

Thanks man. Needed the reassural. That's what I was telling myself every minute I was sitting there waiting on them. "It's 25$, if they want you rebuy the product that's about all they can do. They want to press charges go ahead, they will lose thousands for nothing."

That on the spot "We'll take you to court!" crap is just a scare tactic. It's like when you're angry and you just say some BS because you want to get your way. Then when you've calmed down and everything you realize it's stupid.

Anyhow, best of luck bro. I'll buy you some ketchup flavored doritos if I have to visit you in the lockup. ;)

That sucks ***. I'm beginning to wonder whether or not I'll even have a job after all that has been going on with my back. Doctor says he doesn't want me risking the chance of breaking it or throwing it out again so I can't go back in today like I wanted to. That's probably one of the lamest ways I've heard about someone losing their job though. Chances are they just wanted to find some reason to get rid of you anyways and that was their only chance.

Actually wether or not they can fire you for that mistake depends on what state you live in and what paperwork you signed when you were hired.

For example, Florida (USA) is a right to work state and basicly they can fire you for coming in early. They don't have to have a reason. But it can't be descrimination... So if your black you have a case.

Though it sounds like your boss was an ******* anyway. Goodluck in the job search.

Sorta how mine went, they had a replacement for me start the day after they let me go.

Either way, they aren't worth working for anymore, eh? You could raise a holy stink about defamation of character and all that, but I don't think it would go anywhere. Like you said, you didn't do anything, so you've really got nothing to worry about outside of losing your job.

I say Zrothum, You and I, and tenatively Tantangel(Hopefully not though) start our own little club, we can call it something like; 'Two ****s in a Bucket, Mother **** It.' or 'Got Work?' or something trendy yet witty. And it will basicly revolve around the four of us creating massive ooc networks in fl to complete dominate Aabahran to make up for our bad stick.

Heh, I gave my job two extra days a week durning a hell semester as a personal favor to my manager who left for better work. The new manager 'couldn't let' me have 'those days back just yet.' Heh, I bent over backwards for my employeers and they gave me the boot as soon as they saw an opening to do so.

Not sure if you're down about it, but what helped me get through was knowing in two months, all those ****s who stood by and let this happen will still be working there, and I'll be moving on to better things.

It sucks man, and I feel for you.

Yea, they hired on a new guy about a week before they let me go, figured they were just waiting on a reason. But hey, I'm only 20, I withdrew the thousands of dollars I had in 401k and stocks and am now living quite comfortably with some friends, not working, playing FL for days on end.

Right to work states suck hard. I live in one. I have to bring a note in myself saying that my doctor doesn't reccomend me going back until my back is fully capable as he doesn't want me to throw it out again or even worse, break it. And money problems are starting to get to me as well, Iyorvin, being that I have to pay a $400 fine before the end of the month or it goes to collections (I had it all saved up and then my back went out), I had to give my mom $165 at the least to help pay for a bill that's essential.

I think about the only person at my work willing to actually let me be out as long as I possibly can to get better would be one of my boss', and even he may run out of patience. He's the one who's been encouraging me to keep going further and jump into Management so it's all a bit annoying as hell sitting here doing nothing or even watching seasons of MASH knowing I could be making the little money I have been rather than being a couch potatoe.

And I'll hit that offer up WC if it does happen to me. I'll probably just end up losing my position I do have which is basically 4th in charge, and go back to being a Peon before they fire me (that and I did a LOT of heavy lifting with furniture). So I hope I'm back in a week, otherwise I suppose I'm in the job hunting force again.

In most cases though, employers like a 2 week notice before you leave as well in my state. Plus you'd get a better reccomendation if you gave a 2 weeks notice compared to a walk out which we can do. I wouldn't really want to give up my position anyways, I kinda like being a sectionhead. :P
