Nirn
They dont seem to work on mobs? I had hoped they would work on mobs that move and/or hunt.
Warpnow
It would be pretty awesome if they did.
Kyzarius
Imagine trying to lay a trap in rheydin or val miran with them getting set off by every citizen that steps in the room...
Celerity
I imagine it would be a lot of fun and require some planning to the placement/preparing of traps...
Old_Bastard
Traps Traps are precision set to not spring on a commoner walking down the street. In some instances they are evem magically enchanted to a degree. Though interesting, I think they are very much meant to be PvP only. With some changes though, maybe make a line of traps that are triggered by NPC as well.
Nekky
I think it'd be more annoying than helpful. Imagine you've got a trap perfectly set up for some really mobile person that hardly ever comes near towns, they're about to walk into it, and suddenly it's sprung by some stupid citizen or other mob. I don't know about you guys, but that would infuriate me ;p
npc_death
While on the subject of thief traps, if a thief wears a piece of EQ that raises his spell levels, would that affect the spell levels of the trap? For instance if I wear something that gets my mental spells up a level, would the level of my antimagic trap go up?
Discommodius
This is the bit where everyone says: Go make a thief. Go get some eq that raises . Test it out. And btw, I'm with Nekky - I couldn't imagine anything worse
npc_death
Am a thief. Tried it. Can't tell.
Iusedtobesomebody
make the trap without the eq on 100 times. make the trap with the eq on 100 times. compare notes.
Hegemon
Yeah, sure, be in the room when someone walks through your trap 100 times before, and 100 after, and of course you would have the +EQ still, and log it all... Give me a break. Edit: And said patsy would need identical saves, identical race, identical level... No. Nonsense.
Warpnow
I've used fellow thieves to test traps before. Often times the two thieves want the same info.
Nirn
Traps I was thinking the traps would only affect mobs of a certain rank like with pk.
