Rheydin shirt is getting toned, too.

If it were up to me, and it kinda is, I'd gut the shirt and distribute the benefits to other low level equipment you can buy.
There's a lot of meaningless low-level slots that aren't being used because of the shirt, anyway

It's best in slot for a very long time
So it kinda is a big deal

Level 30 rare armor is worse than the shirt. That's a problem.

The Rheydin T-shirt is a staple for ranking mages. Mages don't have defenses, don't have h2h until high level and have to rank alone like most other classes. Some care should be taken when changing gear that allows us to play. If a mage requires a group to rank, you wont be seeing a lot of mages around. And adventurer isn't the solution. That we are forced to use that horrid thing to save those 10 pracs is an abomination.

I think we shouldn't apply the points system to low level EQ else we end up with EQ that is worthless. For example, the veil from the Hamlet shop.

Object 'violet veil' is type clothing, material silk.
Extra flags: magic nonmetal.
Weight is 0, value is 1300, level is 15.
Affects luck by 1.
Affects ac by -10.
Affects dex by 1.

As a L15 eq, it would should only have like +1 DEX and -5 AC.

Another case, the girdle from the elven shop.

Object 'girdle' is type armor, material leather.
Extra flags: none.
Weight is 0, value is 350, level is 5.
Armor class is 2 pierce, 3 bash, 4 slash, and 2 vs. magic.
Affects dex by 2.

If it where to conform to the EQ points, it would lose it's 2 dex bonus.

If we go looking at all shops to fix the low level EQ, we will end up with nothing worth buying pre L30.

Can we please treat all EQ bellow as L30 non rare gear? Like a minimum floor. That allows stuff to have AC and one or two bonus.
After all a simple +1/+1 hit/damroll eq with 10 AC is L30 minimum. Which is something we wouldn't be wearing at L30.

I'd also second the notion that though t-shirt is problematic, seeing so many pieces of gear off of mobs or shops being unexciting or uncompelling is something I'd rather see fixed first.  Bringing t-shirt down to everything else would not make the choice of selecting gear while ranking any more engaging.

I'm also wishing there was a way to add stats/procs to non-50 gear, that deactivate when you're level 50.  That way you can benefit low level people without creating a new hot mess to fight over at pinn.  Then low-level gear could feature bigger gains in hp/mp regen and moves or even flat exp bonuses per kill/quest.

I like this, and it's not hard to do.

The question I have is how to prevent it from being used in PvP as opposed to PvE.  It could probably be done, too.  Just more a pain in the ass to do.

Just make it lose stats at 50? How hard is it to make a check for character level.

That still doesn't address the "use only in PvE" concern.

It's not hard at all to check character level.  The pain in the ass comes from making sure that everything gets removed properly from each piece of equipment when you get there, be it hit/dam, armor or whatever.
Church for example, hasn't been without its problems and that's merely adding stuff.

The discussion in Discord seemed to be strictly about this item being too strong for level 1-30 (qclass/race range), not for being too strong for level 50.
