Pieman
Yup, I got in a pretty bad one. Sucks pretty bad. I was at a 1 way stop sign and he was speeding. Didn't see him, so I pulled out. About half way through I heard his brakes screech, looked over and gunned it (if I didn't he probably would have hit me directly in the driver's side door and I might not be here right now). Guy who hit me couldn't speak a spit of english and his car is totally scrap pretty much. Anyway, because they have no way to prove he was speeding, I got cited for "Failure to Stop" which is wicked gay, my car is ******. Gas gague is screwed up, entire driver's side quarterpanel is pretty decimated, and my left back tire is bent out of align. Anyway, just thought I would tell you guys while I'm still shaking from this ordeal.
Celerity
If he hit the brakes that hard, you can tell by the marks..you can also tell the speeds by the kind of damage to each car...happy to see you still here
Pieman
Ya, but cops doing investigations are incompatent.
savnt
... insurance companies are slightly more proficient, however. I don't know you, but I do hope everything works out. The whole situation of a car accident is never less than tramatic, and I feel for you. I've caused enough of them to be sympathetic towards the victims. npc_death
I'm so glad you're alright. This type of thing makes you really contemplate your own mortality and how quickly we can be gone. Kinda reminds us that we shouldn't waste what little precious time we have on this earth cause it can be gone like that. This is the sort of thing that makes grudges, jobs, other things seem so insignifcant. If you can't tell, I had one of these not too long ago when riding with a friend. Drunk driver got us. I'm grateful I'm still alive and treasure every second of it. It was actually a really eye-opening experience. Maybe you feel the same way. Either way, I'm glad you're safe. Pieman
Somehow, almost luckily...ALMOST, there was a cop like down the street, so I couldn't beat his ***...wait, I wouldn't beat his *** anyway. I mean it had to be horrible for both of us, I've been talking to you too much UB.
delfytheelfy
The insurance company I GARENTEE will investigate the speed. Just mention it, though I doubt you will have to.

Chayesh
Insurance companies will determine fault regardless of what you got cited for. And yes, as Celerity said, it is easily determined how fast each vehicle was traveling from the skid marks made by the tires.
