Warpnow
I'm 16 and going into the 11th grade and I just passed the college entrance exam I took by a bit. Requredments were 80, 95, 85 and I got 91, 113, 115. Very happy, because this means I'll be able to finish high school at community college and finish my first two years of college in high shool. Just wanted to share. Oh, I totally bombed the College Math part of the test, but luckily its not used in the admission process...just for being able to skip classes, because..well...its COLLEGE math...and you are just trying to get in. corpsestomp
Congrats... Word from an idiot: Try not to play much FL. It's a lot easier to log on FL than it is to read titled The Sovereign States and Their Competitors.
npc_death
I quit playing FL for three years after playing freshman through junior year of high school. Oddly enough, my writing ability gradually decreased the longer I stayed away from FL. With that logic, would it be too bold to deduce that FL = better grades? Warpnow
FL == Better Innate Reading/Writing abilities. Fl also == No time to study, thus more reliance on those abilities and eventually a decrease in grades. I think I owe much of my writing ability, as well as my debate abilities and similar things to Roleplaying. I, also, realize that once I'm taking classes that go on my college record I will only be able to play FL if all my classes are WELL under control. Typing skills, the ability to find critical information in a mass of words quickly, easily forming sentences in your mind for others to see and understand... MUDs can help increase all of those. It's just you've got to balance playtime with worktime. P.S. That a new avatar of yours? I love it.
Lethereal
Congrats and good luck! Definitely keep away from FL. I kick myself every time I look back on my college days. I had just been introduced to FL my junior year and was on way too much. That and I was a double major in Accounting and Business and a double minor in Economics and Political Science and was looking for any excuse to take a break from homework...that turned into hours of breaks at a time... *sigh* I know I could have done so much better. Ah well, got the degree and that's all anyone cares about, right? Good luck, though - this is just such an exciting time in your life!
