This is a discussion that will go nowhere as all parties who feel strongly one way or the other will not sway. I could really go on and on on this topic forever, but feel it is probably a waste of everyone's time.

*steps off her soapbox*

Let's put politics aside and all be friends again before we all become enemies :D

All I'm gona say is that anytime you have sex (unprotected or protected) there is a chance a baby will result (or worse a disease) and the couple needs to be prepared for that should it happen. If it does' date=' killing the kid is not the answer for a mistake that was made. Now, then you have the instance of rape which is one of the few places where it could be acceptable (and even then it shouldn't be). There is a reason the church preaches abstinince. It's not because they are controling, it is because things like this happen and lives are lost.[/quote']

have you ever had sex? I guess I can't put you down for the rhetoric your spewing when you come from the bible belt brosef.

So totally wrong. Having a baby is MUCH worse than having a disease.:D

An adult dog has more cognitive function and cellular activity than a 10 week fetus. Yet we euthanize dogs by the truckload on a daily basis. So it's not life you're talking about. It's the "potential" for it. Fetuses also have the potential to be serial killers, rapists, and politicians.

Oh, and asking my wife "Did you know at ten weeks the child has every finger and every toe..." is complete rederick. Yes. She does know. She carried a child full term, and birthed it naturally. I was there. I saw all the ultrasounds. I can send you a picture of what a 10 week fetus looks like. It looks like a fetal pig, with a giant cranium. I definitely didn't feel very much emotional connection when I saw it.

Did you know at ten weeks the child has every finger and every toe? He/she has a heartbeat and complete bodily functions.

Actually, it's at 11 weeks that the hands separate, but 19 weeks that it has fingernails - for toes 10 weeks it is still joined together (the toes always develope slower than the hands) and at 14 weeks they are separate. The heart actually starts beating on the 22nd day, but the heart has only two ventricles. At 15 weeks the eyelids are formed, but don't open until 26 weeks and the ears are not formed to ear shape until 18 weeks. I'm not sure what you meant by "complete bodily functions" but I'm sure that at ten weeks that is not true. I can give you a detailed breakdown of every week and what it entails as far as development goes if you like. I assure you, I have forgotten more about fetal development than you will ever know. I started researching pregnancy and babies before we even started trying for one.

This is the final post I will be making on this thread.
