Acerbity
Funny, someone in a CABAL bountied him. How hard is it to kill a bard, when you're in a cabal? Really?
Iusedtobesomebody
bards need to understand, if they hold onto shinies they will be attacked or bountied for said shinies. who knows, the person who bountied him might play at different times. *shrug*
Wathok
I believe that to bounty someone that someone has to be logged in when you are. And the bards of today should know that they're fair game even if they don't hold good eq.
F-3000
I believe that to bounty someone that someone has to be logged in when you are. Negative. You can bounty whomever you wish (that you can bounty per bountying rules) regardless are they online or not.
The Forsaken
Maybe the cabaled char doesn't want to kill him and get a bad rep, so they let the Syndicate do it or a contract killer.

Warpnow
bards need to understand' date=' if they hold onto shinies they will be attacked or bountied for said shinies. [/quote'] Heh. Ouch. Of course they're fair game, but you sound like you'll kill them to make a point, which is just as OOC as not killing them because they're bards. You should have a reason to pk someone. Of course, an uber rich merchant probably will be attacked, but that doesn't mean all bards deserve to be attacked. No one attacked my bard, or next to no one. A syndicate and Izlo and some thief. I killed the thief as a herald , the syndicate was taken out by someone I hired privately and paid in some shinies I had, and it was just so much fun escaping Izlo that I didn't want it to end. There is nothing like annoying someone by not dying to them when they know they can kill you, and you refuse to use diplomacy because its funnier that way. But the reason people didn't attack my bard much was because I RPd that way. If, say, a warmaster attacked me, I would get a bunch of awesome eq( I know the eq of FL VERY well ) and hand it to the savants. If a syndicate attacked me, I'd draw them into a trap for a tribunal. That, and I'd randomly give out AMAZING pieces of eq to random pinns in hopes to make allies. I gave away like 6 cuffed bracers one day and 3 fullplates, not to mention better eq I showed to them to convince them that it was in their best interest not to attack me. Diplomacy isn't just a skill, its an rp tool.

Of course they're fair game, but you sound like you'll kill them to make a point, which is just as OOC as not killing them because they're bards. He never said that. He simply said that bards, as bards, shouldn't be expecting any extra protection from PK simply because of the fact that they're bards. People still consider bards to be a 'lesser' PK class, and if somebody needs new EQ and they have the choice of fighting a decked bard and a decked ogre warrior, I think I know what a lot of people would go for. This just comes back to your perceptions of how the game and it's RP. RP is important, but it's also a dog-eat-dog world in PK and to survive, you need the biggest teeth. Of course they're fair game, but you sound like you'll kill them to make a point, which is just as OOC as not killing them because they're bards. if i'm an evil, i don't neccessarily see them a "bard", i see them as more of "someone who has something i want". same way i would a warrior, a berserker, etc. especially, if i happen to see them on a dusty road between towns (for instance). i see the potential for gain, not the victim's profession. my point was this: people whine and cry when they are healers and bards, because people attack them. it's almost like they feel excluded from PK just because they don't actively participate in it. we are all targets, we are all targeters. it's a rough world out there, and no one gets anything for free (unless you're a female character with large breasts, but that's a different thread altogether). i think i know the difference between OOC and IC motives rather well. enough to be capable of attacking/killing a bard/healer and having a damn good RP reason to back it up. Designated_Driver
I don't hate it that people expect an RP reason. I do, however, hate it when they expect me to share it with them 100% of the time. Just because I don't stick around after I kill you, doesn't mean I didn't have a reason to do it in the first place. Warpnow
The difference lies in the perception of whether or not you believe RP is implied or whether or not it is an action. I do not believe good rp is ever implied. Most people do. That is, I believe, the reason FLs pbase has dwindled and why I believe the rp standard has been lowered. Designated_Driver
And that's why you claimed to have left. Yes, we know. We saw the post. We replied to the post. The post was locked. Deykari
That is' date=' I believe, the reason FLs pbase has dwindled[/b'] Fiction: FL's playerbase is declining...'due to the crappy IMM's we have'. Fact: FL's playerbase was cut more than in HALF when the damn MUD was shut down; half the players up and left, and never returned. The MUD has been slowly GROWING since then, back to its old sizes slowly. You want to blame someone for the MUD being small? Blame yourselves, for pissing off the entirety of the previous IMP-staff, who consulted and met with Virigoth first, enough to shut the MUD down and kill our numbers. ...why I believe the rp standard has been lowered. Fiction: RP was 'much better in the old days'. Fact: Sorry, many people weren't even IC all the time in the old days. I was there during the old days, and I don't have as selective memory. I remember such current notables as Saisha, Elise, and others going OOC all the damn time. The only reason RP seems 'better' back then was because, back then, most of you were probably going 'lol' and 'wtf'...yes, as I admit, as I had as well. Might not have been about in the old-old days but I tend to agree with those. Anyone else waiting for the dead-horse-beating image? Dey

Nightmare_from_hell
Those posts were dead on Raargant. But anyways, back to topic, I haven't even seen Korthian about in a long time. My playing times have changed though so that might be it. *shrugs* But either way, with the two actually active syndi's, Korthian's business would be slow for a short while at least. He always does seem to replenish his rare stash quite quickly.
