Warpnow
The AOL software is now entirely free and they have lowered their price from 25ish a month to 9.99 for dialup. The software change is really nice. Aol software is better then AIM if you ask me.

Deykari
That could technically still mean that AOL is great, considering how Goods are the greatest. Dey
Crypticant
Awesome. I've been thinking about ditching my 10Mbps high-speed cable line for something that was more spyware-friendly. Besides, I love getting all that spam. It really makes me feel like someone out there cares about me. Oh, and I think it's cool how they index searches and post them on the internet so everyone can see. I mean, the only reason anyone should be worried about privacy is if they're doing something illegal, right?

Warpnow
While AOL as an ISP may not be too good the software they use make it, easily, the greatest portal available with its massive amount of features. Now, instead of signing onto AIM you can download the AOl software and connect to it over your Broadband for free.
Cycel
You are crazy, you crazy insane AOL people. I've used AOL before - not on my machine, on my great-grandmother's. It is the single most horrific thing I have ever seen. Why anybody would subject themselves to that is beyond me. If you really want $9.99 for dial-up, go for Juno or Net-Zero or something. Need a browser? Firefox. Need email? I have 100 GMail invites, and there's an extension for firefox that lets you connect straight to your inbox - just like you could in AOL. There is no excuse that comes to mind for using AOL, except laziness, or you can't uninstall it/cancel your subscription. Portals? We don't need no steeeenking portals.

WarriorCleric
Now' date=' instead of signing onto AIM you can download the AOl software and connect to it over your Broadband for free.[/quote'] I will say this is good for my parents. I don't see them as becoming very internet independent, so to speak. It's easy enough for me to keep their system clean, and AOL is really easy for them to use. Id never be caught dead on AOL, but for people who don't have the means, and a bit set in there ways, this is a good deal. WC
