Designated_Driver
Hmm... where to start... At the beginning is best, I suppose. Last year, as some of you may or may not know, I tried out for the position of Drum Major for our band as a rising Junior. While I did not make it, I was told by the director that the reason both rising Seniors were selected, is BECAUSE they were seniors, not necessarily because their auditions were the best. Consoled, I resolved to try again this year, as a rising Senior. May, along with auditions, came and went, and I was once again not selected for Drum Major. Instead... much to my chagrin, two rising Juniors were selected, along with one rising Senior. All unhappiness on the matter aside, I am still very excited about this year's show. So without further ado... We will be performing an arrangement of four songs, from the Cirque du Soleil show, Quidam. For those of you familiar with the show, those four songs will be, in order: Atmadja Ninkou Latora Quidam Incantation We are performing in a different marching band circuit as well, this year. Last year, we performed in Tournament of Bands (TOB). This year, we will be performing in USSBA, which I believe stands for United States Scholarship Band Association, or some such. We will be performing at some larg-scale venues this year, such as the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. We were scheduled to perform at M&T Bank (Ravens) Stadium, however, that has been relocated to the Naval Academy, so we will actually be performing there twice. Another neat aspect of our show this year, is the fact that the music is professionally arranged, by a company that allows people to sample the music. Therefore, I have provided a link below that will lead you to the seven minute arrangement of our show.

Insepiddeception
actually in all honesty I wish I had not picked on the marching band kids and took up the snare in school...I play drums and I am pretty good but I think the central learning of just the one drum would have helped me alot.....but yeah Bali go Tuba...chicks love the tuba. corpsestomp
If you play the tuba, the ladies think your compensating for something...which is why I played the piccolo. Jokes aside, I liked marching band, hated concert band. Played the trombone until our much-loved band director of 30-some years retired and a major douchebag took over (I did play a year under him though).
