Zavero
So I just got an iPod for my birthday and I wanted to download some movies/shows/music/porn for it. Do any of you know of any good websites that one might find this?

Warpnow
Limewire I tried limewire and found it had ALOT of viruses. Search for a popular game that is on a dvd, check the file size of most of the files...way way too low to be the actual game.

Never used bittorrent or anything of that other stuff so not sure about that. I've also found that Limewire doesn't really have much in the way of MP3s unless you're looking for mainstream music. Iusedtobesomebody
i haven't had any problems from thepiratebay.org. games, music, vidoes, programs. but that doesn't mean it's 100% safe, either. take the time to read the letter Microsoft sent them. it's HIGH-larious! Calron
I would be careful downloading any type of video from Limewire, but I've never had a problem with music files (MP3). And I have hundreds and hundreds of songs from there.
inscribed
pirate bay is great for programs/games/movies etc, but nothing beats http://oink.me.uk/ for music. They are kind of nazi-ish with regards to what is allowed to be shared (nothing below 192kbps, no second hand rips, only official albums), registration is invite only (you can get an invite from that chat room linked on their main page), and all members are required to maintain a minimum share ratio. Some current stats from the site: Registered Users 86,541 Torrents 55,842 Peers 404,410 Clever Users 18,699 Stoopid Users 8,592 Seeders 387,022 Leechers 17,388 Active Users in Last 15 mins 1,454 Active Users in Last 24 hours 33,
Ophiel X
videos can't execute code. the only reason you'd want to be careful with videos is to not download WMVs that more than likely require a license. for an alternative to limewire, check out the edonkey network. a free open source client for it is eMule: http://www.emule-project.net re:inscribed, i'd have that limit above 192, i personally only deal with rips that are 320 for mp3, or 9 and 10 quality for OGG. on top of that, i hate high bitrate mp3s that are done in normal instead of high/very high quality. inscribed
i have a few invites if anyone wants to try out oink. re: ophiel x i don't think you'd be disappointed with it. while i can't tell the difference between 192 and 320 on my current sound system, there are some definite audiophiles on the site. also, 192 is the minimum, not the average. Ophiel X
some music i can't tell the difference. it depends on how complex the music is, how difficult the waveforms are to replicate. i find that bass especially suffers on lower quality rips. Warpnow
Low bitrates are okay for me as long as you use an actual mp3 player. Never burn low bitrate mp3s to an audio cd. It artificially ups their bitrate and it sounds like CRAP.
