Imoutgoodbye
Let's see.... I had a 1983 Mercury Topaz....sold it. (didn't have a license and parents wouldn't insure it...did buy it myself at 16.) I had a 1986 Ford Festiva....sold it. (couldn't drive stick, I learned the hard way:eek: .) I had a 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera....died. (dumped $1000 into it before the sending unit went and almost every gas line in the back burst) I now have a 1992 Chevrolet Cavalier....maybe in another thirty years I'll have a 2000....

HBwillie
I first drove an '87 Buick Park Avenue. The brakes gave out on a curve and I totalled it and a nearby tree. Second was my '97 Chevy Silverado. 3-4 months ago I used it to trade in for the little truck I drive now. (I was granted $1,000 trade in value) Now I drive an '01 Mazda B3000. It's silver with a V6. Dhelan
I've got a 2002 VW passat wagon. It gets 35 mpg and can fit all my important possessions including my 110lb dog in it in the event of disaster evacuation. I hung snazzy wind chimes from the rearview that clang together much too loudly for the comfort of passengers when I take corners. It would be even more awesome if it were diesel, but I did get a really good deal...

So neat, they sit on a pivot so you can turn the whole seat so you do not have to get in/out sideways Its got some other minor tuning, nothing major. Crypticant
Chay, if you have a Jeep, you should check out Grizzly Grip (www.grizzlygrip.com). It's a paint-or-spray on urethane coating for metal. I just used it on my truck bed as a bed liner, and it works incredibly well. A guy I know has an old CJ that he stripped the flooring out of and coated the entire inside with the stuff. It's like a hard, texturized rubber coating. Best part is, a gallon of the stuff with UV protector is only around 80 bucks...Less than a quarter what you'd pay for Rhino, and it works just as well. Nice part is, they send it out as a DIY kit, so you can literally paint it on with their special rollers in a few hours.

Are you going to sell it' date=' or just keep it in the driveway and stand next to it all the time?[/quote'] I'll probably do the same thing you do when the pbase drops by 400% and you can't hold a spot in the top40 with certainty when you used to be in the top5 regularily: lie to myself and tell myself I'm doing fine. Solves all our problems. Edit: And before some player or IMM slams me for being an ***, remember that I was just trying to talk about the subject at hand, and like happens with every thread, I am insulted and flamed and it is conveniently ignored. Iusedtobesomebody
seriously, warp. i'm all for joking and kidding around, but if all you're gonna do is slam the state of the mud (on it's own forum, even), perhaps you need to just bugger off. you don't help things a whit of a bit, and i'm getting real tired of your attitude. i don't care who you are or who you think you are, but as someone who put a HUGE chunk of time and love into FL (as both a player and an IMM) i don't care for you slandering it. you might not care for what i have to say, and frankly, i don't care either way. you give absolutely NOTHING to this game. you stain this forum with your remarks, be they backhanded or straight-forward slams. you claim to enjoy the 'community', but your constant complaining of one thing or another isn't needed. you aren't needed. the game will go on whether you play it or not. accept that fact. it won't conform to what you think a mud should be. accept that fact. your opinion doesn't mean jack. accept that fact. edit: we were just having a bit of fun. then you went and got all insulted. Warpnow
I'm not trying to insult the mud so much as the attitude of those who play it. I mean, they expect the mud to be in the top5 with 1% of the players most of those muds have, so instead of thinking "Why does the mud have so few players?" and trying to fix things and get players...many people ignore the fact and pretend everything's fine. Warpnow
I avoided making any response to that topic because I know I'd probably be banned for it, as I have been threatened with even without breaking rules, but if you're going to use it in the argument, I have to. Fiction: RP was 'much better in the old days'. Fact: Sorry, many people weren't even IC all the time in the old days. I was there during the old days, and I don't have as selective memory. I remember such current notables as Saisha, Elise, and others going OOC all the damn time. The only reason RP seems 'better' back then was because, back then, most of you were probably going 'lol' and 'wtf'...yes, as I admit, as I had as well. People staying IC is better than in the old days. OOC connections are down, but the standard and prominence of RP is still down. There were problems in the old days, especially with OOC connections and all that jazz, but finding and becoming a part of an rp session was a lot easier. Now, rp plots are scarce and they are hard to become a part of. Fiction: FL's playerbase is declining...'due to the crappy IMM's we have'. Fact: FL's playerbase was cut more than in HALF when the damn MUD was shut down; half the players up and left, and never returned. The MUD has been slowly GROWING since then, back to its old sizes slowly. You want to blame someone for the MUD being small? Blame yourselves, for pissing off the entirety of the previous IMP-staff, who consulted and met with Virigoth first, enough to shut the MUD down and kill our numbers. FL took a hit when the old IMMs left, yes...but the FL playerbase continued to decline for a good year after they left...with no growth, and the loss of the IMPs is not the only thing that is largely responsible for the loss of players. Alot of players left when the forum was shut down and many more people left earlier on during this Staff's regime. FL was down for how long when the old staff dropped it, a week? It wasn't as much of an immediate shock as i seems to be made out to be. There has, I will admit, been some growth since the induction this new, very nice, forum, but not enough to rival its old size. I mean...average players...in the last year...gone up...10 players? So at that rate...it will take years to get back up to the old standard. Just because something is asserted as a fact does not make it so. Immortals can deem IG policy, they can't deem what is truth in the Real World...
