Texas Football

The time comes in everyone's life where they are put up with a simple proposition:

To sit on your *** and watch tv and study

or

To **** school and go to the greatest college celebration on earth: COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

It has started! And that is my biggest reward for coming over here to UT!

Ok enough about me. Anyone who actually keeps up with american college football, throw in a pick or two for this years national champions or just throw in some good times. Just to shoot the **** with me.

Yes i do think Notre dame looks damn good this year, i'm surprised they weren't number 1 or 2. (even though i'm a texas fan)

Oh man was that game fun as hell! I only went to the first half because it was hot as hell and we were kicking ***.

post any thoughts on all college football, i enjoy reading up on it.

Notre Dame is a strong team, I watched a couple practices and those boys can do some special things. I think they will fall into the heisman hype pitfall though. The best player on that team isn't named Brady Quinn. Turn around and give the ball to Darius Walker, Charlie.

Texas...eh, redshirt frosh = holiday bowl trip or something like that.

Miami should be good...although who knows with their crazy schedule. Same can be said for the Seminoles. UF is the weak team out of Florida because they always seem to play a finesse style game, and lose a tough one to a team that lines up to bust them in the mouth.

If you like offense and I know most of you do, USC and OSU are both a lot of fun to watch.

A team to watch for, since defense wins championships and special teams are special, is Virginia Tech. Frank Beamer and Bud Foster can get some boys to play defense if nothing else. Watch for them to match up with Miami in the winter with the ACC Coastal crown on the line.

My pick is those very same Hokies or Auburn. War Eagle has another good team to make a run this year.

Chayesh,

There are different rankings and all that bull crap. And on the one i was reading on ND was number 3 and Texas was number 2.

Oh by the way after the way ND played last night i honestly doubt they will stay in either of those two positions. The play was horrible, their defense just couldn't stand up for nearly the first half. And the offense was being picked apart just the same.

But I will admit it was a fine looking game for them in the second half and when they actually did complete thier plays.

UT= University of Texas at Austin. LONGHORNS BABY!

As a Tech Alumnist I live, breath, and drink for this time of year. We're looking stout on defense as always, and our offense has some serious power if we can get the O-line together. With our easy schedule (and I'm sad to admit that) we could have a great season. I'd like to see what some of the new QBs (USC and UT) do under real pressure before making any judgements about the rest of the season. Auburn is nasty (read: Irons is nasty), and Notre Dame won't go undefeated without picking up their game quite a bit. It'll be an interesting season, and tonight's game should be telling (for FSU, at least, Miami has half their starters benched).

Keep in mind, this is just barely on topic, so if you want to skip a post in this thread, here it is.

Anyway, I have a bit of wisdom to lay on all of you, in the form of an awesome line I heard on the radio the other day. Keep in mind that I'm paraphrasing from memory.

'In Texas, there are only two things that are really important: executions and football.'

Hell yes!

Very doubtful, especially if Texas manages the win. Texas is young enough (esp at QB) that they WILL have a bad game, and probably will end up with a loss in the column. Ohio State doesn't have a defense, plain and simple, so if the offense sputters one game they won't be looking at a win there.

Lets see here, Miami lost two games, Seminoles lost a game, and how many has UF lost. Oh, thats right, none. :)
