Warpnow
Debate? Debate what, exactly? You threw up a bunch of dumb remarks that you heard on TV or from your little high school friends in order to make yourself sound intelligent. You don't think my comments are my own? You don't think I know what goes on in the world around me. Here's a few facts for you, I watch the news three times a day and read the newspaper. In the part of the world I live in, way below the bible belt, people saying things against Bush or the war in Iraq are almost unheard of. My family supports Bush, as do most of my friends, which aren't from High School, because even though I'm 16 and should be in the 11th grade, I am attending community college because I believed I would recieve a better education. I don't even know where to begin with your post. The war is not about "Capturing Osama", its not about "finding weapons of mass destruction", and it sure as hell isn't about oil, or whatever other dumbass reason you got. Simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction. - Dick Cheney, speech to VFW National Convention, Aug. 26, 2002 We know that Saddam Hussein is determined to keep his weapons of mass destruction, is determined to make more. - Colin Powell, remarks to UN Security Council, Feb. 5, 2003 The world is also uniting to answer the unique and urgent threat posed by Iraq. - George W. Bush, Nov. 23, 2002 A nonexistant threat was posed to us by our goverment to convince us to enter into an illegitimate war with a country that there is no evidence ever intended to harm us. Claims were made to us by our goverment that were quite simply- lies. The people of the United States have been manipulated. They have been taken advantage of. They were scared after 9/11 and their fear was used to prompt a war that, despite whether or not you believe was necessary, was only approved by the citizens of the United States because of the false threat of WMDs. This war is about fighting the radical Islamic ideology (To pre-emp any remarks about "we can't fight ideas with guns, we must fight ideas with ideas!" or some equivalent, well, thats just plain wrong. Look what we did to fascism). I couldn't agree with you more. Radical Islamic ideology has caused great devestation and should be put to a stop. That's why we should be pursuing Osama Bin Laden rather than wasting our time on a country which has no factual connection to any Radical Religious groups or any instance of threatening behavior to our country. There was no reason to think Iraq was a threat to us. There is a whole section of people who want me dead for no other reason than that I am an American, and these people are not limited to a single country or nation. These people have been brainwashed into believing that I (and every other American citizen) am the spawn of evil, and should be eliminated at all costs. Osama was just a single man, and while he is definitely a priority, this war was never about capturing him. You don't convince people we're not evil by dropping bombs. We're validating their claims, turning them into martyrs. However I fail to see where an established connection between Osama Bin Laden, extreme religious groups or terrorism has been linked to Iraq. As far as the comment about a 'president who told lie after lie', what lies were there exactly? The whole 'weapons of mass destruction thing? Information existed that claimed Iraq had WOMDs. That made them a top target. If it wasn't Iraq, it would be another target. The war would still exist, and it would still exist because the reason we went to war would still exist regardless on some piece of information regarding Iraq. Some sources gave info saying there were WMDs in Iraq, while scientists were telling the goverment that the time requirement for the production of WMDs had not been reached since the claimed time he started the project and the claims that he already had them had to be false. Not to mention the fact that a search was performed and it was verified that he didn't. Not to mention you should be DAMN sure of something before you exhaust the entirety of your country's resources and extinguish the lives of thousands towards something's truth. The threat exists. It exists in Osama Bin Laden and many others. No evidence supported its existence in Iraq or any threat. I'm not going to break down every other comment you made, but it really is nothing intelligent enough to waste time debating. How did this thread even turn to this again? Not agreeing with you make people unintelligent?
