Silence / Blasphemy cure. <New consumable>

Apparently there is no cure for Silence and no consumable for cure Blasphemy.

Esuna, years ago, used to cure this, now it doesn't. Healers still have access to restore faith, but can't do it to themselves.

 

In my opinion this a severe drawback for casters and communers, who depend on spells to PK.

There is no spell that prevents all melee attacks, but there is one for spells.

Slow might partially prevent some attacks, but so does Feral fury for spells.

 

So, I suggest a single unique Wand, that casts L60 cure for both with 1 charge.

Wand - because of bards, who are also casters/singers.

Unique - So it can be limited to 2 max

L60 - So that it works 100%

1 charge - So that it only works one, and then your in deep trouble.

dual cure - So that Clerics and Mages fight both for it. (Magick)

 

Magick sugests a more failible cure, with a larger suply base akin to Gyvels.

I think there might be a reason these are uncurable mals.

Silence is not uncurable.

Communers are difficult enough to kill as it is. Clerics most especially. IF they get blasphemied then they have to RUN, not portal etc.

 

Besides. There are....five? class/combo options that might have access to blasphemy..I think it's only four actually. Two of those are not readily viable.

 

Silence has...five? or four? and it's true most of the same combos make up that number too.

 

Plus, they're both spells. That means if you're concerned about fighting something that has the ability, you stack those svs. 

 

Blasphemy and Silence don't kill the char. You can still run, and a myriad of other types of escapes. 

 

Almost any caster/communer has protective shield and access to long duration flight spells, so lagging won't be easy either. So they WILL have a chance to run. Unless the other side lands the mal at JUST the right time. In which case, hats off to them, because it isn't very easy to land in the first place, and it's even harder to land it with the proper timing to make it really effective.

BMGs can lag, necros can lag (harder than anything in FL)

Everything can lag with good timing.

Healers cannot lag.

I think we should cut to the chase and just get a herb that allows you to restore yourself.

Might I also add to your list of combos that can blind:

dkn, blms, ninjas, and saders to name a few more. 

 

I'll also add the combos that have access to an INCURABLE blind:

Paladins, Invokers, Rangers, Warriors, Ninjas, Bards, Anyone with a fire dragon, anyone with ranged weapons who I forgot to mention, anyone with a socketable weapon.

 

 

Then let's not forget dirt kick--Also an INCURABLE blind...but you get the point.

 

 

We can disagree, Mya. But c'mon. At least provide a valid counter-argument. I said they don't need to be curable BECAUSE casters/communers are meant to be difficult to kill normally unless they mess up. Communers especially.

How you think meeles would feel if the Glimmering staff stoped being usable, and became brandish only.

I think Blasphemy and Silence are mechanicaly interesting, but they are a bit to powerful without a cure.

Won't and shouldn't ever happen.

I despise all consumables, truth be told, and their prevelence especially with merchants around make them a burden on game balance.

Now if you don't have a bag of consumables you've lost before you've begun. Reequiping means spending extensive time gathering. This is all my personal opinion, but if i had my way i'd have consumables banned or seriously curttailed.

In fact, maybe we should give them a toxicity rating like in the witcher, to prevent the endemic use we see now.

Now volg. THAT could be cool. But some balancing I think would have to be done. Sader, zerk, psi, loch and vamp seem a beefed.

Volg, that is my single biggest gripe in this game.

The consumables are bordering on ridiculous. It's almost enough to not bother playing because my idea of fun is not farming 100 nymph hearts so someone has to kill me 3 times before I die.

What has teleport to do with silence? You can teleport or recall silenced/blasphimied. Or use other even better stuff like shadow stuff.

 

I don't like it P_body because it turns your class for ~6 hours into a headless chicken. In the past we used the Lamian stave to cure it if we could access it. Since there are only 2 lamian staves available. But with the decade long trend of changes which favor meele by deprecating casters it's gone. I don't think I ask much, just to have back what we had.

 

Thanks P_body, your tangent on teleport just made me figure what is the unorthodox cure for silence/blashpemy for all except one case.

A potion of Shadowform.

It won't cure it, but it will kill PK during enough time to wait it out.
