The Forsaken
What are your favorites? Just now found my emulator and my stash of old nes/snes RPG's. All the final fantasys, secret of manas, secret of evermore. But...I want to play some new ones. I heard Star Ocean is pretty good. Anyone have any favorites they want to suggest? Chayesh
Anything Forgotten Realms. Check out the re-releases of the old D&D games like Pool of Radiance and the like. Also, old RPG's from Sierra Online are cool, old Leisure Suit Larry, Police Quest, etc.

wolfman
If you have a genesis emulator, go with Phantasy Star, especially number four. By the way, in case someone asks, I have no idea about how the name came to be saddled to an MMO.

inscribed
Willow, Final Fantasy, Zelda, Dragon Warrior I + II, Faxanadu, Crystalis, Ultima IV for NES. FF6, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Evermore, Secret of Mana, Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma, Ys III for SNES. These are the ones that stick out for me growing up, at least as far as video game RPGs go. Theres always the pen and paper gaming, as others mentioned. Call of Cthulu is great. edit: can't forget Star Tropics for NES!
Sirax
Ultima 4 onwards how many hours did i play on that. Fiere
King's Quest...oh so many frustrating hours playing those. Lot's of fun though, especially if you have someone else playing with you, trying to figure it out. Zork was pretty sweet too. The later Ultimas are way sweet. crackwilly21
Willow owned. I Just recently beat Secret of Mana. Chrono trigger, of course. Final fantasy 2-3 and mystic quest (kinda sucks, but its not bad). Illusion of Gaia (weird). Soleil, for sega (british release). Zelda ANY AND ALL zelda games. FF7/tactics/8 were really good. Wild arms. Legend of Dragoon. Breath of Fire 1/2/3/4. Ehhh, brain is tired....must...bah!

songofsixpence
excellent game? i dunno, it was fun to play, but i thought it had some major flaws in character balance and the story was...lacking in my eyes. i liked the timed hit system though, made battles interesting. um...faves for me would be ff 1-4, 7 if we're going that high, any of the mana series, any of the chrono series. King's Quest were fun (albeit mindbogglingy hard for me at the time), and some of the oldies are great. Zork was fun, so were some of the D&D ones (i'm not old enough to have played these when they came out, but i did track them down later). ahh...the days of being eaten by grues.
