...Pronounced “Math-ee-kuss”, not “Mathi-I-kuss” (like in stick), nor “Mathi-eye-kuss”.

=D

Anyway, Mathi’ was pretty damn fun, I have to admit, even though I never intended him to be really for fun. My original goal was just to make a character who are a little more ... constant than the norm, as in he rarely changed or did anything miraculous. He was more like your overly (and painfully) ordinary person. Believe it or not, I formatted his whole RP to that single ideal: no bias, no perversion, no fear; all things are acceptable. Tolerate everything. Thing is, I had to make him very mortal, very afraid, and very unwilling to gamble. I set goals for him, but they weren’t usually for good. I told Mathicus “This and this is what you will want”, but I told MYSELF that “Hehe, Mathicus likely won’t get it”, and for several reasons, one of which is that he was very afraid of losing people he cared about, even though he constantly taught others to avoid letting emotions drive them, and he was very afraid of losing his mind.

This is why Mathicus got along with Martineius so well. They were both searching for utopia at the time, or so it seemed. That was the first bit of real drama I got myself into, drawing up that act to bond Heralds and Tribunal, and boy did it light a fire under my ***. Despiser couldn’t have been more right when he said “Aren’t you Heralds bored? Lemme give you something to do”!

Now, you know I had to prop him first, so lemme quickly blast out a word to everyone else that, in Mathicus’s 900 hours, I loved. I’ll try to do this chronologically.

Seliana – Adorible. A perfect person to occupy Mathicus’s younger mind.

Krounoi – Adorible. Just adorable.

Jisil – One of the largest props I can offer. Growing through the young years of Herald with you was absolutely fantastic, and it couldn’t have possibly helped me weed out and develop my character any more than it did.

Merdien – Good lord did I hate you. I still do, but it was a riot, I have to say. Some of the most intense and incredible RP I’ve been in was having tiffs with you about how the Library should function.

Ehoannei (SP?) – I’ll never forget RPing with you.

Deralias – Incredible. Outstanding.

Lyria – She was crazy. I just loved her (even though Mathicus murdered her last life away. *Snicker giggle*)

Legari, Legaro – Very well played. I wish that would have lasted longer.

Isiyani – One of the few people who could conjure Mathicus’s cynical side. She was easily the highlight of my fun with Mathicus (that would be a purple velvet highlight).

Korthian – I spent a lot more time talking with him than I thought at first. I have to say, he was one of the best too. Or the best. They’re all so good at this. :o

Eshaine – Toying around with me in my earlier days was funny. Tsunami of Rabbits!

Raargant – Almost getting beat to a pulp EARLY early in the Emlentum plot was amusing (i.e., extremely fun). Too bad I never fancied firebreather.

Elviena – Very testy time for my character, and I was very glad she rolled along. I was learning how to break my own rules around there a little better.

Haroen – Also very testy. I had to stand up against Knights for that crap. Thank you for everything, though, it was very fun.

Isadora – You’re actually a goddess. Get out of here. GO. Stop hanging around on a mud, you belong in Olympus or something. GO AWAY. You’re too good for us.

Camuel – Lovely. No, really. Thank you for playing along and helping out.

Tinntiro – Very, very interesting character. You can take those ideas and soar. You helped me weed out some of my traits as well, so thank you.

Etlei - Can’t forget Etlei, because she was totally awesome. Always very encouraging, and some of the only light hearted and playful RP I got.

Malchaeius – Thanks for throwing a tomato at my face.

Senrail – It was nice that you talked with me to help get some tomes published. It was very fun. It’s a shame I never got to talk to you in person.

Suunmar – It was nice that you played along as well and didn’t hold back. It was a shame I didn’t get to RP more with you after the first little encounter. Very well played.

I’m sure there are heaps more, and I’ll come across them as I brows my Mathicus folder on my external hard drive... which contains countless logs and virtually a copy of every note I ever wrote to anyone anywhere. If I actually get time tomorrow, I’ll start uploading some of it for your reading pleasure, ALONG with the small (yet intriguing) collection of RP logs that lead up to his death.

Again... Thank you everyone. I have a feeling I’ll end up playing again some time, but it won’t be soon. I have to worry about school soon and really have to limit my addictions.

Holy jeez.

My Vote for best char of 3.0.
Seconded. Both Etso and Etlei were fleshed out incredibly thanks to you' date=' you seriously [i']taught me how to RP. I actually teared up a little when I saw his name on the board; I feel like FL has lost something incredibly, incredibly good.

PLEASE roll another. Something.

All my love,

Etso, Etlei, and everyone else,

and Phillip, the player.

The most I'll be doing for a long time will be lurking. I'll log on occasionally to keep a few currents alive, but you won't have to worry about me holding on to rares or anything. Hopefully I'll get into the swing of things early next year, but I can't promise anything.

Samaet thinks if he could have lived a little longer he would have trained you enough to become a WM leader.

Brilliant character (Pronounced brill-eeh-ant and not brill-eye-ant). It always makes me vomit all over my keyboard (in a good way) when people have characters than span the lives of many of mine and yet still manage to keep them at a consistent level of awesomeness throughout.

Someone told me and I didn't believe it....

We had fun though!

I remember all the backstabbing on both sides of the line when Jisil and I had that little power struggle. Oh boy was that great. *cries* I hope you know that was just my chars rp and nothing against either one of you, props indeed.

Love,

Merdien Lorvaq
