Help 2?

healers and clerics are two different classes, however you need to have a cleric before you can make a healer.

if you're just starting out with it, i would recommend a human healer (for ease of ranking) or an elf healer (for large mana reserves). check out the helpfile for healers in game, or just take a good aligned cleric to 25 or 30 and convert at the healer guild.

oh...and healers are the only people that can ressurect (besides imms that is)

the curative spells such as cure poison/blind/disease or esuna aren't bad choices either. although you have better things to cast in combat, the quicker you can remove the ailments affecting you the better. others have varying opinions on this, but i like not failing my concentration 10 times in a row while trying to unplague myself.

i would say weapons and defenses should be mastered, that gives you the best chance of surviving. meditation and trance too, but if you're casting spells they'll be going up with no problems.

You only get a choice of three weapons, and not once did I use them when ranking my healer up to pin. I used an exotic weapon the whole time. It got kinda boring for me after I hit pin, so now I'm making a warrior with the goal of becoming a crusader. anyone know if you can pin as a warrior and then become a crusader?

On a healer, here are the following spells its wise to master:

All weapons.

Wands, Staves, Scrolls if you are going to use them, they're a big help.

Shield Block, Parry

Cure Blindness, faerie fire, summon, cure disease, cure poison, locate object, calm, faerie fog, dispel magic, gate, heal, recall, turn undead, curse, resurrection, dispel evil, prayer(always always use before trying to resurrect), esuna, divine retribution.

Those are vital. Others WILL help, such as shield, sanc, ect becuase you'll have more mana if you fail spells less, but aren't VITAL.

I always liked a storm Healer. It was just much fun. the ability to be able to wear a shield and a staff is wonderful. You can have a shield and staff because of spirit shield anyway, but it costs a lot of mana, and doesnt last all that long. Having spells mastered takes a while with a storm giant but it is in my oppinion well worth it.

I will forever push forward the anti-training movement. IMO if you're a new player, spending the time to master a lot of skills and spells isn't going to make much difference; you're going to die. Sure, it will help, but IMO your first characters should be about getting out there and getting some experience with fighting and finding stuff at pinnacle and not wasting time with training. Unless it's things that train very fast, or are an absolute requirement to train. Again, you might curse when spell-x fails and gets you killed but as a new player, could any of you honestly say that mastering spells/skills would have seriously helped you enough to warrant it being worth your time?

You might all disagree with me, but if I were new and I wanted to play a healer, I'd pick the race that sounds most appealing to me personally regardless of what everyone else says sounds cool or not, forget about training (apart from say, defences), and just rank up to pinnacle as fast as I could.

Healers have 4 weapon choices besides exotic: flail, whip, mace, staff.
