china is amazing. much dirtier than the u.s. though, in both beijing and shanghai there were days when you couldn't see through the smog more than 500 or so feet.

however, the architecture, people, culture, and food are awesome. i would love to go back someday, for no other reason than the fact that i love the country (and 3/4 of the places we went in beijing were being restored for 2008).

my one tip would be, if you're buying something, haggle like mad for it...it helps if you know a little chinese as well (they'll automatically drop the price to 30-40% of what they were initially asking).

Live in England, and I've been to Florida, Spain, France, Germany, Greece, Cyprus, and the Canary Islands. So, pretty much your typical British tourist locations (holidays with family/friends, that sort of thing).

I plan on doing a lot more travelling when/if I'm able to afford it however, seeing the world is something I've always wanted to do.
