Last chance. Next one I see, I'm banning, and deleting all posts related, Warpnow.

The only thing you are forcefeeding into FL, or rather, this forum, is crap. There will be no more warnings.

Locked.

and oh, just read a through your review, now. can I here everone say; "BS"?

It was very low, not based on fact. Propaganda. Stop it. Just because YOU don't like this mud anymore, doesn't mean the rest of the world doesn't.

You want to change the staff? Who would be the new imp? You? Maybe we could make a poll and let people vote and see if ANYONE would like you as an imm.

Let me take you by the hand NewGuy, and explain line by line... this Propoganda Spewing Machine!

Taken from the review in question:

Aabahran: The forsaken Lands is a fantastic mud with some impressive code and a very embracing and friendly atmosphere. It has many classes and quest-classes which require special application, all of which seem very balanced and well thought out.

Hrm, didn't know you thought this was bull****, maybe you should write a review saying how much of a liar he is.

He left the mud in the hands of his two other staff members who seem to have found the task to overwhelming...so they ditched the project.

I'm fairly certain the old staff left. Now here I use the word 'left' because they might not have actually 'ditched' the project, they just didn't want to put up with our BS. Either way.. they're gone. I believe this one is based on fact, lets continue.

In the years since his taking the position of head coder there have been two major developments in the code- and I have used the term major very loosely. A cabal was added...to a system with a built in cabal editor...and a class was added. A class which has seen little to no play time because of its nature.

Now I know what's in Viri's release of the FL code, and I'm 100 percent positive that it comes with a Cabal Editor. I'm also 100 percent certain Tribunal was added as a cabal and Lich was added as a qclass. If you think differently, lock'n'load and hit me with what you've got man, but I'll defend till my dying breath that this place got a new Cabal and Class. And before anyone bitches about the Cabal Editor, yes I know it doesn't make skills for you, I'm not stupid. I'd say Tribby's got about 8 new skills. The Lich I don't have an estimate, but I would guess 10 or so unique (complete guess though). And play time for Liches, earlier this month Chayesh said himself four have been played, that's probably because of a lot of people not getting them so there the code sits touched only once in a while by a great player.

Assuming the class is more complicated than any of the other ones...and the cabal has more skills than any other...we are talking probably around 60-70 new skills/spells...in over 2 years...

I'm all over this one. Warpnow gave the most generous number in guessing how many skills went into one cabal and class than has ever been given in history. 70 skills is outrageously high and a better guess for both would be probably around 20.

The Head builder, Malchaeius, is probably the person I respect most as a staff member on the mud, but not as a builder. Building developmentation has hit almost a dead-stop

I've been to Test-Port senior, I know whats there and what isn't (at least a few months back, heck I could log on now if you want).

  • Added area: Landfill
  • Added area: Aria
  • Replaced Miden'ir with Wood
  • Val Miran and Miruvhor were given a makeover

Could be more, so don't quote me.

...and the reason they give for not accepting applications from experienced builders like myself...is that they have not had time to impliment all of the areas they have had built for years.

This is the general reply to applications right now. But here Warpnow is wrong, I got to build. ;) Fun little fact though: the Landfill.are was complete for over one year before it saw Main Port. *shrugs* If not halted, that's a bit slow.

I wonder...what have they been doing? Log on if you'd like, try and tell me. IMMs seldom to never leave their hidey holes under Wizinvis. They never RP with their players. It takes hours to get a description approved. Players sit in clans for months waiting to get into their favorite cabal. Areas are being builty roughly one every 4-6 months. Code is sporadicly written at best. Bugs and typos remain unfixed when people with the skills to help them are turned down...and you know why I think it is? They don't want people to see their own incompetence. They have failed a great mud. As a mud developer myself I am saddened to see such a great mud fall. Roleplay is no longer enforced and the encouragement of it is feeble at best. The players that have put up with this failing regime are only those who exist because of the community of players or do not enjoy RP.

This is a crazy paragraph with a lot of different information, so I'll try my best. Some imm's don't leave Wizi, but I'll have to correct Warpnow here and say some do, a lot. If I've ever needed to talk to Athara or Eshaine in the past, they never hesitate to bring me up to ask what's up. The only IMM wizi'd most of the time to my knowledge is Chayesh, but we all know it's not his fault for being stuck to having to catch cheaters(props). Cabal time, I don't know, I haven't been in game for a while. Bugs and typos, meh, we all know about the typos so no denying there. As for bugs, don't you just love how those Sader's only need one starstone to make 1000? RP not encouraged? Not sure there, that's more a player's opinion, and we all know Warp's opinion so I don't even know where to go there. All I know is I log on, I CAN(typo'd =P I put can't before) rp with someone fairly easily.

Edit: Last parts of the review seemed to be very opinionated. So I'll let you be the judge.

----- And now I have to run to work. :(

<3 you all, seriously.

Someone has to code in a norequest flag for those star stones.

Dam, if i knew this sonner i would be less troubled with some quests. :P (kidding)

And the Mud Code isnt that great. Its better than many out there but its badly organizated in my view. Its the problem of having things built on top of other things. But hey it works like a charm. We hardly ever crash. Belive me.

Its just a maze for coders. Moving some special abilities to flags over pure code checks would make it a lot more easy to make special things.

Personaly i think we are not bad served with the IMM's, the game work and well. If anything is broken is the playerspool. We are to little players and its starting to notice the pain it is to reach 50 for non USA time players.

The last paragraph you tried to defend, but had a hard time covering up, is the same BS that warp has been throwing around here lately. But that is nothing, compared to this.

This is a mud run by uncaring amateurs who enjoy telling their pbase "We do this for you! You should be thankful!", well I'm saying this for all the people who have tried and been silenced, there are those of us who consider it an honor to develop a mud for our community and would do it without bitching or having to have everything our way. If you don't enjoy it, don't do it. Oh, that's right, you're not, you're just taking the place of those who should.

You didn't get to the part I meant.

Well, yes, they are amateurs by definition, since they don't get PAID for running the mud. But for not getting paid, I'd say they are WAY much more professional than you could expect. And we SHOULD be very thankful that we got these good imms and imps, and not a whining little kids in our staff.

Who was silenced? Everyone gets to talk. It's when they keep beating dead horses the imms tires off and shut you up.

...and would do it without bitching or having to have everything our way...

Is that himself who he refers to? How about his bitching about "the low standard of RP". He keep going with that even though nobody seems to agree with him.

have played this game since the first year of its inception and like many of my fellow players I am leaving. I sent many applications to help the mud, both to try and become staff member and to build, in hopes of replacing the horrendous stock areas plaguing such a developed mud.

(see previous post for the "attitude") And with that attitude, very strange those apps was didged.

*shrugs* It's a review man, reviews are based on opinions and facts. If I go write a review about FL being the greatest mud in the history of time and space no one would have a problem, even though its still my opinion.

Reminds me of a game review I read recently. The review was written by someone who hated the game. I bought it, and loved it. But I can't say that guy is a liar, because.. it's his opinion.

A dead horse is here, obviously still being beat.

Meh, I'll agree now.

Facts are facts. Opinions are opinions. Published statements that insult or sully reputations unsubstantiated by fact, however, are libelous, and the intentional half truths, slander, and outright false statements are peppered throughout the review. Warp, you wish you knew any of the intimate details of the departure any of the IMMs. You speak as though you were a witness to all that went on when in fact, you were never involved at all. It is always amusing in a bitter sort of way, when I watch everyone who wants to "fight the 'Man'" invoking the name of Virigoth and calling us out when we are developing the game along his intended course. Liches, Viri created them. The idea of a merged Justice/Royal class, yep, Viri again. A place where people could sit and chat without fear of PK, yep Viri, and then he came to his senses and scrapped it. Also very amusing is that no one bitched about "stock" areas in my entire time here until they started being replaced. Suddenly, this was the measure of the staff's involvement? Hilarity without end.

What's really sad is that a group like this could have had a positive impact, but Warp, your underhanded methods, poor reputation, general immaturity and lack of self-control has cost you whatever credibility you might have had.

This thread is done as it serves as nothing but a showcase for Warpnow's anti-FL propaganda and his general pile of misinformation, no matter what name he chooses to hide behind.

I suppose I should also make something clear.

The released code is an unsupported open source. Thus, we neither support nor oppose this group's formation. I hope they do develop something positive despite their current membership's involvement.

That being said, the thread was locked by me before it got nasty due to the nature in which the members of said group went about things and my general distaste for dishonesty.

Peace, out.
