Average damage on a weapon

I was wondering whats a good average damage on a weapon to look for, for the warrior classes? I've always shot for 25 and above, but I'm noticing alot of the weapons I choose, aren't really getting me the results I want. I know some are magical and some are physical, and can have different affects on diff races, but all in all, I'm just looking for a good round about average damage on the weapon to focus on.

Some high average dmg weps can be deceiving. To actually understand where the average comes from, look at the dice before it (the XdX). the first number indicates how many times you will roll a die, and the 2nd number indicates how many sides is on the die. For instance

A sword might have 30d1 in which case you always roll a 1 since its a 1 sided dice and you do it 30 times, so it should potentially do 30 damage (this is all unmodified of course). 30 would be its average since thats all it will ever do

Another weapon might have 5d10, five rolls of a 10 sided dice with a max dmg of 50 and a minimum dmg of 5, with the average somewhere in between(dont wanna do the math right now).

Hope this is what you were looking for...

Edit: But ya, generally anything above 25 is good, not superbly awesome but not bad at all. You'll tend to see a lot more of them hover around 27, I believe.

5+50=55

55/2= 27.5

27.5 avg damage, right?
