I hate!

I'm sat at work now, in the office, and it's deathly quiet. All of a sudden, guy next to me gets his sandwhiches and stuff out and starts eating. But, this isn't any normal guy. He makes that awful squelching sound with his mouth when he eats. I don't find it disgusting or horrible, but annoying. I mean, really annoying. And he's eating his frigging sandwhiches and making allsorts of noises and it's quiet, and I'm so close to punching this monitor it's unbelievable.

Take his sanwdich and pee on it. You'd be doing him a favor. English sandwiches are terrible. English FOOD is terrible. It's why you don't see any fat people over there.

No, it's just that we don't have fast food restaraunts and stores that sell tons of unhealthy foods in their millions like there are other there. :P

Although in all honesty, there are some bloody good steakhouses. But no American food will EVER beat a good 'ol traditional "British Pub Meal" with a pint. Ever. :D

I've seen traditional british pub food, and it looks like vomit and slime. What's that beer that's super popular over there? Kronemburg? It has like.. a date on the draft handle...1669? I forget what it's called, but that's some tasty stuff.

You guys have fast food places, just not as much. In the USA we have Kentucky Fried Chicken. I saw a place called Tennessee Fried Chicken in London. Haha. (silly censorship, censoring my h-e-double-hockey-sticks), I ate at McDonalds there and it was like...exactly the same. It's kinda scary.

There's a place a few blocks away from Picadilly Circus called the Texas Embassy. It's owned by a guy from my hometown, Austin TX. Next time you're in London, go there. Get a chicken Chimichanga. Be sure to order a Lone Star beer. That's the National Beer of Texas. You'll want to move to Texas the next day.

The next time I'll be in London will be June '07 when Balinor comes to the UK and I head to meet him (unfortunately :D). They sell lone-star in our local but I've never tried it.

Kronenburg is nice, yeah. I like Budvar too, the Chezck(sp) stuff from Eastern Europe.

Oh, and English pub-grub? When you saw/had it, did you go into a real English pub, or one of those franchise chain "pubs" that are all over? We have plenty of them, that just pump out crap. I'm talking about those old cosy Pubs that have been owned by the same person for six hundred years and they do the home-made cooking themselves. True story - walk into any real English pub and get some great homemade food and it will never taste bad. It's like Britain's blessing. :D

Yeah, so that last line may have been a lie. But most are nice. :P

Oh, and don't big yourself up too much. We have KFC too. TFC is probably some London one-off (and is also a kick-arse MOD for the game half-life). In fact, we had KFC before you did. Yeah, that's right. Kentucky was originally a British town and by British town, I actually mean "Yeah I'm lying through my teeth.".

Dude I was reading the first post...and bout died laughing' date=' cus I know exactly what yer talking about....I could even hear the noise the guy must have been making...oh man...thanks for the early mornin laughs.[/quote']

What's even worse? When they take a bite into an apple. That "Cccccruuuuunnnchh!" sound as they bite, and then they just sit there and make the most rage-inducing sounds with that piece of apple you have ever heard in thirteen lifetimes.

I went to several pubs all over London. The first one I went to was in Bayswater (yeah, I know..it's a tourist area). It's the only one I remember the name of; it's called the swan. Apparently there are a billion pubs called the swan in England. I did get some nachos and about 4 coronas because I was there on may 5th, which is a mexican holiday (cinco de mayo!!!1).

None of the food looked very good. The best food I had there was at the Texas Embassy.

The best food I've had in my entire life was in Rome, Italy. Jesus explicit language Christ that was good food.

and lol, I was just teasing. Don't get me started on english teeth...lol.

See, that's where you made your mistake. I, thankfully, live nowhere near our beloved capital.

Best food I have ever had (as far as I know, I may have had better food elsewhere, but this was the place where I "claimed" did the best food ever) was a small italian place in Cyprus. Cheap beer too. :D

Dey wait for a moment to strike and have a handful of sweaty pubes ready, when he leaves his sandwich place said pubes and watch, nothing will put you of your food more. Yeah the TFC branch is like a KFC cheapo version, they have a lot of them right near a whole load of clubs and bars so booze hounds who would eat anything put in front of them after a night can enjoy their products. Having tasted one of their chicken burgers i was not impressed though when i heard what people called it i could relate, the TFC rat burger  .

Dey is right though nothing beats a good old English pint and pub grub. A proper steak and ale pie, with chunky chips peas and carrots loads of gravy and a nice pint of lager. And no one does Fish and Chips like the brits thats for sure.

I do wish we had Burgers like the Americans do though.

Obviously you've never been to the SOUTH here in the US....the seafood is great.

I have no doubt the fish is fresher your way, but thats only half the battle, its what you do with it after. Soggy batter or crispy batter the uk knows it stuff it was after all the national dish for a good while, though Curry has now taken over, mmmmmmmm curry. Stop these posts im getting hungry.

Doesn't really matter, because like you say Sirax, they just put open a load of crappy takeaways near all the bars and clubs and stuff, so when you come out at six in the morning, unable to see and falling all over, you can get a burger filled with tasty processed, artificial meat. Mmmm!
