That was a change made by Virigoth because he felt that permanent weapons as powerful as level 10 malforms were for DK's were unbalancing. That is something I have talked to Iru about reversing. Changes get made and players don't know about it....we think it's a bug. Communication, I've always thought, has been lacking in this department. People cry and moan because they don't think anything is being worked on or changed, when I'm quite sure it is, but nobody knows because we don't hear anything. All they see from Imms is remarkers, forum bans, and etc. Nobody hears enough about the good things that are going on...so why not communicate that stuff a bit more? Behrens/Arithis not shown up in awhile? Why not just say, hey guys, there might be some delays, because it looks like the head honchos are away on real life stuff. But don't worry cause me and Chayesh are gonna be taking a look at some stuff we might be able to work on to take care of that army combat issue, we'll keep ya posted. Start throwing out more positive stuff for people to look at, instead of just this glum environment we're in. Just my .02, putting myself in your shoes. This entire thread, actually, is an excellent example of the difference between polite, constructive criticism (Celerity, Dharg, Iyorvin, and a few others) and what is most definitely not polite constructive criticism (the OP). As Dharg predicted on the second post in this thread, temp forum ban for repeated flaming. This thread remains open for any others to discuss their concerns. I understand that this is run privately by the imms, and they can do anything they want. That doesn't bother me--just like any private company, it is in their interest to do things well. Now, I've been here since beta, and not once have I gotten into trouble with the staff (I guess I was recently forum-banned for providing the wood to START a flame--I still have objections, but life goes on and I don't care at the moment). I sincerely do my best to IMPROVE the atmosphere through my posts, in game, and even when I was an imm. Like I said in my last post, I AM thankful for all the stuff the imms do. I realize they aren't in it for themselves, and they are geniunely interested in the welfare of the MUD. However, I don't know how to post my opinion any nicer. I've tried to do it privately by sending PMs to various imms about it over the last few months, (including you Raar) and have YET to get ANY response. Response concerning what? Yes, this IS a bit of a challenge to the staff..but hardly an open assaulting flame. I probably could've posted it a bit meeker, but the point stands. I'm relying on my reputation as a long-term player and poster here. I am a bit frustrated as a serious player (I do have some locked threads to my name). I've tried to ask indirectly..Things like change logs are no longer public..why is that? I've tried privately through PM. I just tried nicely. How am I supposed to get an answer? If I get banned for 5 days and get an answer to that question, it is well worth it for me. This thread is all about flaming and banning and all that. That is all besides the point---the ROOT of the problem is a lack of answers. I still just want an answer from the imms concerning the situation with the code. I hope it is -very- obvious I'm not flaming or attacking anyone here, nor stating my opinion (code changes can be measured). I know I'm disliked by a few players here, but anyone will have that. I hope the staff realizes that I am not, nor have ever been, out for their blood or embarassment. I just want to knooooow. I feel the same way - this mud is really stagnant compared to a few others ive been at. The ideas section got tonnes of good ideas, but I wonder when an idea was last implemented? There will be a change, this is just an extended one in FL's history, 6 months is beyond all other stand-still I've seen(code-wise). There are too many people here who care about the mud to let it die. We have people who donate, people who BUILD AND BUILD AND BUILD(so boring), people who code, and people who play. The game-play stand-still, as in RP is all the players faults. I havn't got on in a couple months but I come back and there are 3 notes? I'm so confused. I just wanna say that I'm more of the addict of the population that will stay here no matter what. And the fact that some of the players and imms are kinda getting into it and the fact of how not much has been done to the game codewise as I would have liked, kinda scares me. The mud isn't shutting down is it? Nooooooooooooooo!! I'll donote money or learn to code myself if I have to. PS Oh and btw are we at least gonna get some answers as to what's really going on? If things aren't finalized, we announce them, then for whatever reason it doesn't work out, that just causes more complaining than if we had kept quiet in the first place. No thanks.
