EtsoShex
Has anybody heard their new album, "Amputechture"? I like it, in a prog-rock/Zappaesque way. Anyone else? Or, do you have other odd music you'd like to share?

Zavero
I got their first two. If you like them you should check out, "At the drive in". Which was actually the guitar player and singers band before that. Other members of "At the drive in" went on to form the band Sparta. Download "One armed scissor" by At the drive in. Good song. elfdude
Sparta is pretty good, there are alot better songs than One Armed scisor too.
Grim_Reefer
Sparta sucks, At the Drive In sucked.... but Mars Volta, fantastic.
EtsoShex
Yeah, Sparta wasn't fantastic, and At the Drive In wasn't bad, but Mars Volta is glorius.
BigMac
yep' date=' they pretty much kill live[/quote'] They opened at this SOAD show I went to. I can honestly say with 100% certainty that they're the worst band I've ever seen live. They've got way too much going on and it's way too disjointed and ugly for me to be able to stand. There was about a 30 minute span where I sat down, put my fingers in my ears, and hummed Amazing Grace. Aside from the lead singer looking like sideshow bob and sounding like a woman, their studio stuff aint half bad IMO.
elfdude
WTFFFFF when did mars volta open for system? I don't believe it. and if they really played with system if was probably in a big venue, you need to seem them in a small club
BigMac
It was in San Antonio. It was Bad Acid Trip, The Mars Volta, and System. It was a relatively large place. The only good part of being at a smaller venue would probably be that the exit would be closer.
elfdude
hah, ouch. I can understand why some peeps wouldn't like mars volta though.
