Reason you turn off training triggers...

Through years of being pk fodder and getting raped while spam training. I have learned enter one command at a time, where pk before and after each command, make sure my detects are up, and that i have a recall and a teleport on hand. I will take a mob death over a pdeath any day. I feel that eq is far more important than a moderate exp hole. It may be because I rarely play something that is not eq dependant.

Stupid invokers fireball === DISINTEGRATES === you!

That really did hurt!

You sure are bleeding!

eat black

You eat a black pill of teleport

An elder soul thief's circle sidestep ***OBLITERATES*** you!

You have been killed!

You feel less healthy.

I always attempted to master cruical defensive' date=' evasive and a few select offensive skills/spells early on. Like, you won't enjoy failing casting sanc mid-PK, nor would you want to fail to recall. Pinpointing down an opponent that's trying to crawl away and that one flame arrow that would finish them fails? Was freaking out every time things like that happened to me. Guess that's been the reason I kind of trained almost anything...but that's a different story.[/quote']

I will never cast word of recall with a hostile person anywhere near me. They sell these neat little potions that NEVER fail, I think they call them potions of return to your temple or something like that......

If I'm getting really into a character, I will maybe train odd bits here and there until things are mastered, but very rarely will I have my main stuff mastered pre-pinn. I understand how important training can be but it is the most LIFE SAPPING task ever, and I hate it. Classes that need a lot of training I may well never play, sadly. I always take the sickly perk, and I'd prefer taking the odd death and there due to a failing spell as opposed to spending centuries of real-life time mastering blindness dust, or godknows what else.

Although for some reason, I find it strangely satisfying to train battlemages. No joke.

I'm a lazy b@stard when it comes to training - aside from defenses I wait until rank 41 (highest before possible lvl 50 range) before I bother to seriously train a character. By this time you can have most of your weapons 90%+ (do all to 80%, then 85%, then 90% while ranking). Do the ones you want and then guess how much you can get done while ranking to lvl 50 (when I first got leader of WM I did not have all my weapons mastered).

The only real reason to train is that you can't find a ranking group and have enough gold you don't wnat more (though you can get gold while you train if you are clever ;) )

Better still - if you play something like a drow DK the extra time ranking will actually mean that all your weapons are done by rank 41 and you don't have to stop and train :D :D
