Are storm giants supposed to regen so slowly?

Nope, more mana doesn't help the gain at all, though there are certain things you could aquire that will aid you, via items, herbs, staves, scrolls. You'll just have to find them. I had a stormie cleric back in the day, and never really got the feel for him because of the mana gain. Now that I've been playing a while and have found a few items, I'm pretty sure I could get adequate mana gain, and not just by sleeping on water. It sucks to have to look for those items, especially if you don't know the lands, but what better way to learn the lands, than by exploring eh? Anyway, I'm sure you'll come across more things as you explore. Good luck!

He means hungry/thirst afects your regen.

Think, if you played a fire giant it would be worse.

Managain helps increase your %of mana regen per tick.

Sleeping just before a tick is an art form for mages/clerics.

Spells for example afect your hit mana regen.

A classic one is Paladins Heroism. A full speled Elf Pal only get about 100 mana regen.

Of course those communers that devote themself to the search of greater Knolage will find ways to inprove their mind regeneration. ;)

Now an advice, forget 103% meditation and get +managain eq.

Yeah, basically managain comes from int/wis stats (I'm surprised nobody has said yet!). So you can either get +managain eq or cancel off some high upkeep spell. Otherwise, not much you can do.

Pali, how much mana do you get a tick, for reference?

Edit: Some rooms help, as does master quester and a perk.
