snoreal
I have meditation and trance both mastered, yet the average gain is 70-80 mana an hour. Infrequently I manage to recover 100-120 mana. Sleeping in water doesn't help either (meditation 110/trance 110). Would higher max mana help in regening? thanks... Polk
Nope, more mana doesn't help the gain at all, though there are certain things you could aquire that will aid you, via items, herbs, staves, scrolls. You'll just have to find them. I had a stormie cleric back in the day, and never really got the feel for him because of the mana gain. Now that I've been playing a while and have found a few items, I'm pretty sure I could get adequate mana gain, and not just by sleeping on water. It sucks to have to look for those items, especially if you don't know the lands, but what better way to learn the lands, than by exploring eh? Anyway, I'm sure you'll come across more things as you explore. Good luck!
Chayesh
Were you adversely affected by anything, such as calm after requesting? Being affected by certain maladies will also slow mana regen.
snoreal
Not calmed, drained, anything.. only normal spells such as armor, shield, bless, detect invis/magic
Zrothum
There are spells that if you have up, will halt mana gain somewhat. Not being completely full and with water will also halt your gains somewhat.
mya
He means hungry/thirst afects your regen. Think, if you played a fire giant it would be worse. Managain helps increase your %of mana regen per tick. Sleeping just before a tick is an art form for mages/clerics. Spells for example afect your hit mana regen. A classic one is Paladins Heroism. A full speled Elf Pal only get about 100 mana regen. Of course those communers that devote themself to the search of greater Knolage will find ways to inprove their mind regeneration. Now an advice, forget 103% meditation and get +managain eq.
Pali
Currently got a storm cleric myself, and I'm regenning mana just fine...
Celerity
Yeah, basically managain comes from int/wis stats (I'm surprised nobody has said yet!). So you can either get +managain eq or cancel off some high upkeep spell. Otherwise, not much you can do. Pali, how much mana do you get a tick, for reference? Edit: Some rooms help, as does master quester and a perk.
Pali
Depends where I'm resting... usually about 110-130 asleep at level 25, with meditation/trance unmastered.
WagesofSin
Do ALL spells drain mana?
Pali
As in, upkeep? No. Most spells that have upkeep have such mentioned in the help file. BMGs by far have the most spells with upkeep.
Aulian
no! Not all spells drain mana. It will most definately say in the help file if they drain mana, most spells like sanction and armor are a one time cost to cast. Not sucking any mana until you have to pay the mana cost to cast them again.
