Hegemon
Drow Cleric to go learn the ropes. Remember to SANC, Protective Shield, and FLY, and you will be set. Best way to map the place/learn the items/not live in mortal fear of being whooped.
corpsestomp
Neutral ogre warrior to learn how to play a melee. Anything cleric to learn how to play a mage and identify stuff. Neutral battlemage to learn about spell upkeep and more identifying.
Chayesh
Of course...clerics being communers and not mages...
corpsestomp
They are magey enough... edit: In that they have spells, upkeep and not so eq dependent as invokers or necros (especially at lower levels.)
Deykari
Welcome to FL. Best tip I can give you? You're going to die, and a lot - take it in your stride, and learn where to re-equip yourself. A lot of people will help you with that in-game, or alternatively, just kill and loot one of my characters. Works for most. Dey

Sirax
Go human cleric good, you can identify items, feed yourself and create water whilst out exploring the world. You also have gate if things get rough for you, pick a nice safe spot and your good to go. Oh and welcome, if you have plans that involve real life, cancel them now it will save you the bother at a later date.
