BobcatFan
Is it possible to RP with NPC's. Do you have to have special permission from the imms or what. Is this something that I can pray or do I need to post somewhere or write a note. I know the imms can talk through the npcs, but I just found that a certain npc would be able to aid my rp quite a bit, and i wanted to know if it was possible
EtsoShex
I believe there is an RP log by Mathicus where he uses smotes to RP as NPC's.
BobcatFan
I was just curious as to if it was possible because NPC's could be a big part of rp I would think.
WarriorCleric
When rping with the enviroment, the big thing to keep in mind is that your rp should not lock anyone out from using the mob or room as they'd like. Certain people who will remain nameless had grand ideas for rp, but hole they kept digging was that their ideas exluded people from a certain aspect of the game they otherwise had available, then those nameless people would get all kinds of upset when noone wanted to play their game. I guess what I'm getting at is so long as your rp doesn't require that other people to change there game experience for it to work, then it's pretty much a green light. EtsoShex
It's defninitely possible; look at what Mathicus does. For Smote to work, the only requirement is that you have your character's name in it. That could mean that a shopkeeper mentions your name, or pats you on the shoulder, or just looks your way. BobcatFan
Well I understand that yeah, but is there any way to actually have the NPC talk back with you outside of emote, like asking a imm to talk with you or is that a ultimate rarity. EtsoShex
I think asking an imm to talk to you us not the way to go about things. If there's an imm around, politely, and in-character, ask if you can speak to them for a moment, and then try to start some RP.
Pali
*shrugs* Can always make a dk, charm the mob, and make it do what you want.
Dizz
Or make sure there is a bard in the room to ventriloquate. That's so fun! Better yet, BE a bard and try it yourself!
Ajindaar
Go to your favorite slave shop, get a human mercenary or whatever, give a name to it and you've got yourself a nice buddy. Phaak the faerie used to ride in a kangaroo's bag, for example. order mercenary em farts. A human mercenary farts. peer mercenary You peer intently at a human mercenary. You say, 'Pete, you stinkin' bastard!' WHAM! You slap a human mercenary! A human mercenary cringes in terror! A human mercenary says, 'Oh, I'm sooo sorry, boss! Won't happen again...' Yadda yadda...
