Deykari
Whole heartedly agree. And I would throw no caution to the wind if it came to myself or someone I cared about faced with any danger, at breaking the law to ensure they are safe. That is the problem, however. UK laws on self-defense are ridiculous - if somebody tried to jump me on the street and I turned on them, I can be taken to court if I harm them. But in a situation, like that, that could be a serious danger to yourself or others, how many people do you think take heed of that law? It's always in our newspapers and on the TV, stories about stuff like that. Dey
Ajindaar
Blame it on CS, or a PK turned bad. or... Blame it on video games. Blame it on where English people went to settle at. Blame it on Americans to not handle it. Blame it on Australians to "damn, prison island was our job". -- Blame it on general lack of taking responsibiliry. Be it whether English, Australian, French, Netherlandish (oh yeah, they too did attempt to colonialize), bleh, ...

L-A
More people need to learn to protect themselves. Tell the kid with the broken arms to learn to use a gun and start carrying it. What a f***ing stupid idea. I'm sorry, but it is. If everyone was carrying firearms don't you think the two brainiacs who beat this kid senseless would have had them as well? Do you think that kid would still be alive today if that was the case? There will always be people like this in the world - and yes, they must be dealt with by being separated from society. I don't believe they should be put to death. Perhaps if all the do-gooders weren't so busy getting parents stopped from smacking their children these two would have got what they deserved at a young age and had a chance to fit into society. L-A PS - I'm from Australia and there was a study done here about police officers having to draw their firearm, aim and fire against someone running towards him with a knife. At up to 15m the guy with the knife got the police officer. No shots fired. Interesting, no?
