GOW (Gears of War)

GOW is really where its at right now on any gaming console. Its not a definte halo killer just yet, only because they have a few techincal draw backs to the game that I dont think can be reversed. Even though I say its not a halo killer ill be playing it till halo comes out.

Theres nothing about this game thats not good. Only things that arent great.

A fight broke out. Wiggins' nose was broken, and he stabbed one of the attackers, Dylan Moss, 19, police said. Moss was in critical condition after surgery, officials said.

good on those dudes, if some punks tried to rob me when I was unloading my ps3's you'd be sure they were going to be sitting in the hospital.

Alright GOW really wasnt that good of a game everything in that game has been done before, where is the new story plot? The only redeming factor to this game was the fact that unlike many new warfare games that are coming out this is a third person instead of being all Haloish and have first person all in your face. The story of this game was nothing new the world is being attacked by giant bug like things its so Starship Tropperish its not even funny, no offence to anyone who likes this game I just was hoping for something new and original.

Oh, the story of GOW is very cookie-cutter, that I have no debate with. However, the cover system is actually fairly modern, especially the fluidity of it. The enemies are smarter than your average shooter foes, the game's mad fun, and it's incredibly pretty. What's more fun than having a gun with a chainsaw attached that you can run up to enemies and slice apart with?

I just got and played the game yesterday, and while the things have all been done before and even the story could be considered cliche, it's rare to see these things done so well, especially together. The single player fights, especially on the higher difficulties, are intense and heart-racing. The necessity for squad-style/real-style combat makes the game a breath of fresh air for me as I loved playing co-op and running cover-fire and flanking maneuvers with my buddy. The third person look took me a bit to get used to, but I think it adds to the intensity of the game as well as allows you to do a bit more. The graphics are amazing, and even the cliche "badass" main character is done up so that he's an attractive hero in his gritty Duke Nukem style. Overall I absolutely love the game so far, and am very excited to continue kickin some ***.
