This will be, starting now, where you can find a list of changes made to FL, either in terms of areas added in or in terms of changes made to classes. There WILL be secret changes not noted here, or only alluded to vaguely. They will not be elaborated on further. I included some old, major changes for the benefit of any returning players.

2006/2007

Staff Changes:

[11/12/06]: Raargant is now in charge of the Knight cabal once again.

[11/30/06]: Thinoth is now in charge of the Warmaster cabal.

[12/02/06]: Malanith is now in charge of the Syndicate cabal.

[12/02/06]: Malanith is now the new Immortal of Greed.

[12/05/06]: Koevhar is now the new Immortal of Compassion.

[12/05/06]: Prax, Isadora, and Thinoth are now officially the patron deities of Order, Neutrality, and Combat. All your prayers and warcries will now go to them.

Bugs fixed recently:

[08/05/07]: Bug allowing adventurer remorts to gain more HP than their guild allows per level has been fixed.

[12/16[06]: Berserkers upgraded. Path of Fury has improved powergrip. Path of Devastation can more easily ignore blows while raged.

[01/05/07]: Raids now give increased worth to the cabal sending them, and to any

cabal that defends against them.

[01/11/07]: The Cabals have gained new armaments for their battles. Seek your halls to gain it.

[01/13/07]: Those pets who serve you will only remain under your control when you depart the lands if they are in the same room with you when you depart. Be wary where and when you choose to depart.

[01/13/07]: Those who are outlaws can now only be ensnared in lawful areas.

[01/15/07]: Watcher cabal slightly tweaked.

[01/19/07]: Liches slightly tweaked.

[01/28/07]: Crusaders slightly tweaked.

[02/09/07]: Knight Praetorian subcabal changed slightly.

[02/10/07]: Caltraps no longer reduce movement regeneration while sleeping.

[02/10/07]: Blademaster critical strikes have been rearranged.

[02/10/07]: Critical spleen has been moved to 119 anatomy.

[02/10/07]: Critical kidney has been moved to 101 anatomy.

[02/10/07]: Psionicists may now cast certain unmemorized spells at increased cost.

[03/08/07]: Liches toned slightly.

[08/05/07]: Sermon's duration has been increased.

[08/05/07]: Sermon is now subject to a saves check on the hour.

[08/05/07]: Parry has been dropped to level 7 for mages.

[08/05/07]: Ogre Regeneration has been toned down.

[08/05/07]: Pets can no longer send tells for their masters.

[04/30/08]: Tribunal skills/helpfiles properly set.

[04/30/08]: Players at level 15 or below will no longer receive experience loss for mobdeaths. No experience loss until you reach level 31 or 10 mobdeaths, whichever comes first.

[07/02/08]: Minoma has replaced Mahn-Tor

[07/02/08]: Minoma is now a hometown selection for Minotaurs

[07/10/08]: You may now apply for Custom Warcries. Please see HELP CUSTOM WARCRY for more details.

[07/10/08]: The Tome system has been reworked to allow easier management.

[01/18/08]: Ogre regen has been tweaked again to make them heal a bit faster.

[01/18/08]:Liches are now immune to the hold undead spell.

[01/18/08]: Berserkers now get a message when they try to weapon cleave a burnproofed item.

[01/18/08]: Raged Berserkers can no longer be calmed.

[01/18/08]: Berserkers can now relax out of panic.

[01/18/08]: Monks are now able to second parry outside of defensive empowerment - at a lesser rate

[01/18/08]: Caltraps will no longer affect flying opponents

[01/18/08]: Thieves can now disguise as blademasters

[01/18/08]: Reflective shield's lag protection has been diminished.

[01/18/08]: Reflective shield no longer reflects magical damage at all - only physical.

[01/18/08]: Manalock can now be cancelled, but still offers protection from being dispelled.

[01/18/08]: You can only doublesheath one two handed weapon, and while that weapon is sheathed,

You can't use it - I.E. no more sheathing a certain staff that heals when used.

[01/18/08]: Trees cannot ride mounts anymore.

[04/30/08] Druids will now get a proper message when restoration runs out.

[04/30/08] The Crusaders guild has taken grammar lessons and will now properly refer to the plural of thief - thieves, not Thiefs!

[12/29/09]: There is no longer a wait to begin a new fight after a victory in the Milieu

[12/29/09]: Berserkers no longer suffer a penalty to haymaker chance against Illithids

-Unlimited ammo launchers not shooting back bug fixed. Code checked to see if there was a quiver of ammo before weapon shot back. Unlimited weapons don't need quivers. Check added.

-age removes other forms of haste, as was intended.

-Cultivate increasing items held fixed.

-Work-around to putting rare items into a backpack has been fixed.

-Owner only items being able to be put into bags when using "put all" has been fixed.

-Standards on ground causing a crash has been zapped.

- Willow Palm rewards for defeating the Fallen Shifu have been improved to better reflect the challenge of the encounter:

   + The Obsidian Plummet has been given +hit/dam, and has had an in-combat affect added.

   + Bandages now improve blind fighting, and has been given a usable affect.

- Boots of Stomping now check for illegal targets when worn as well as when picked up.

- Bloodwolf Eye has had it's spell level risen to be more in line with other Warmaster consumables. (thanks player)

- Broken black-steel plate armor has had it's price adjusted. Honestly, who pays 7k for something you found in the trash (thanks Enethier?).

Quests:

 - Some small adjustments made to the Undead Quest (thanks unnamed player!)

 - Quest fixes: Witness Ayluin's Lament;

    * Issues where pets would get caught in limbo while performing the quest in Ayluin's dreamworld is fixed. (Thanks Trick, Magick and others who brought them up)

    * The quest is no longer repeatable.

    * Yisabella has had her multiple personality issues handled.

    * A bug wherein the quester would get stuck at the Wierwells under certain conditions has hopefully been fixed. Any further issues, please post with logs on the bug forum.

- Defeating the Gor'gork will now give players a permanent quest text, instead of a temporary one. Further, the Gor'gorak's item drops have been increased by a huge amount. (thanks to the two who reported, names withheld)

 

 

Cabals:

- Heralds have had some of their gear completely overhauled, while having some new equipment added.

- Warmaster Inductees are now exempt from gear crumbling on death.

- Life Insurance has been changed. Players now lose some equipment upon death (similar to, say a mob death). This is to ensure that life insurance isn't a total shield from item loss.

- Barter no longer allows you to barter away cabal equipment.

Areas:

- Falen Dara guards have begun a rigorous new training regimen, and sensitivity training for others who do not share their view. They are ow hardier, but are no longer only interested in helping 'good' citizens.

- Hope clanhall has opened its gates once more.

- Val Miran has been conquered by combined Knight and Caomhnoiri forces.

- Ayluin's Lament is now on main. Explore, and discover the story of Ayluin.

- Added a check to the spaceman and womb in Gear to help castaways abscond to safety.

 

Coding Changes

 
- Crash bug with leopards and disconnecting fixed.
- You can no longer restring or bazaar re-name Unique equipment.
- Some equipment can now be loaded with spells giving you a partial proficiency
  * bug causing a crash with this new addition fixed.
 
- You can now apply to another cabal even if you were part of another one previously.

- Life insurance changed as follows:
  * 2-3 random rares will go to corpse.

- Feign chances increased - changed to work per round basis instead of per tick basis.
- Barter no longer allows you to trade Cabal Items. (Cabal A to Cabal B which normally couldn't hold item.)
- Liches adjusted slightly to allow for easier fighting against high-hitroll players.
- Chill touch for liches adjusted.
- Bone wall now fires against critical strike.
 
- Solar plexus critical strike reduced to normal skills that are like it.
- Diaphragm critical strike reduced to normal skills that are like it.
 
- Ecstacy chance lowered considerably (but still plausible when first used).
 

Other:

- Q-A Workshop:

   * Archimus notes are now available at the workshop.

   * The tinkerer will now tell you if someone has already discovered the current invention (after a fashion).

   * Made it easier for imms to tell who created it, but it's still advised you post on prayer.

   * Implemented the new legendary item given to the person who discovers it first, as well as the lesser items which will eventually be on sale by the tinkerer.

 

- The replay command now replays; tells, cabal chat, group chat, says. Type 'help replay' for more.

- 'Help replay' made available to mortals.

Typos:

 

Bug fixes:

  • A bug involving exp penalties has been identified and fixed. The game wasn't calculating penalties correctly. Character may, unfortunately, find themselves in significant exp holes now as the game re-adjusts.

 

Class:

  • Bards have been revamped. Please feel free to try out the shiny new class and share your thoughts.
    • Bards now employ breath damage, akin to dragon damage. Effects of breath damage are random, being capable of casting afflictives, maladictives and mental spells along with increased damage in rare cases. Bards who employ masterwork weapons have all their song and spell levels increased by +4
    • Bards are still considered a 'newbie class', thus anyone who kills a bard without good reason stands to be punished by the staff. This is regardless of the behavior of the bard.
    • Bards have had their exp penalty reduced to 0

 

Race:

In an ongoing effort to balance races, we have made a sweeping list of changes to bring them all in line.

  • Ferals have had their fire vuln reduced.
  • Dwarves are now immune to bash, but have had their poison resistance removed.
  • Illithids now do negative damage as a base. They are further resistant to mental damage.
  • Halflings are no longer resistant to magic.
  • Avians are now vulnerable to lightning, wind, and sound by small degrees. They now have an innate chance of dodging abilities like air thrash.
  • Minotaurs can no longer dual wield axes. They can dual wield staffs.

 

EQ:

  • Most save vs spell gear has been replaced with equivalent sv vs breath values. Save vs spell will slowly be phased out over the next few months.
  • Adeptus gear has had it's power reduced overall, due to concerns of players being able to solo high-level content.
  • Unique items now count as TWO rares when calculating character rare limits.

 

Quests:

  • The Human Racial Quest Line is now complete.

 

Cabals:

  • All 'hard-coded' vendettas have been lifted, and total cabal control has been given to the mortal leaders of their respective organizations.
  • Herald has been revamped. They are now 'scholarly warriors', who will be expected to violently expunge ignorance from the lands. Essentially, the grammar-police.

 

Areas:

  • Winter, Desolation, and the Volcano have been replaced with unique, low-to-mid level ranking areas.

 

Other:

  • Crafting materials are now required for;
    • Malforms
    • Crusader crafted items
    • Phylacteries
    • Druid potions
    • various quests

  • Unless you're a giant, (even if enlarged) you cannot wield two weapons if one of them is two-handed. (includes shields)
  • Sense motion should now always work as intended.
  • Characters affected by incarceration will no longer earn a penalty for not returning their cabal standard.
  • Medusa will now petrify as intended.
  • The Erudite will no longer strip you of an ability if you already possess it.
