ajwetton
I just had a thought as I dropped it, if elves can't drop iron, then how is they get a rusted IRON shield as a shield?
Pali
That's how rusty it is. It's not even iron on the outside anymore. ^_~
Raargant
That's what I was going to say. It's so corroded that the outside, the part you hold, is pure rust. Hell, the entire thing is probably rust; that's why it falls apart as soon as it hits the ground.
ajwetton
That sounds believable, I was just curious, i never even thought of it till now and thats my fav race to play is elves. thanks.
The Forsaken
Hey Iusedtobesomebody, want to explain to him why elves suck?
Deykari
Elves don't suck. The reason the purity and other good align people are also known as 'the good guys' is because they are literally, good. And Evils are known as 'the bad guys' because literally, they're really bad and sucky. Goods don't suck. Hoovers do. Dey
Iusedtobesomebody
elves only suck when they become healers.
Deykari
But Healers aren't a real class so it doesn't matter. Dey
Dobson
That's what I was going to say. It's so corroded that the outside' date=' the part you hold, is pure rust. Hell, the entire thing is probably rust; that's why it falls apart as soon as it hits the ground.[/quote'] rust= iron for those of you who slept through chemistry, IRONOXIDE is rust, always and forever. If it is so ridden with rust, that it falls apart when you drop it, how can you block a giants weapon with it? :-D I mean if setting it on the ground makes the thing crumble, withstanding crushing blows should sent it into the beyond. Pali
Yeah, but elves only get burnt by pure iron. Steel, for instance, doesn't burn them. Adding that oxide in there makes a huge difference.
jb5679
So are all elves iron deficient and anemic?
Dobson
Yeah' date=' but elves only get burnt by pure iron. Steel, for instance, doesn't burn them. Adding that oxide in there makes a huge difference.[/quote'] Ahhh, watson, a challenge. Steel is an alloy, not a metal. It is made from several metals and non metal components such as sulphur and magnesium. The reason, haha, they can touch steel is because it is no longer iron because there is a magnesium coating on the OUTSIDE of the metal which makes it so much stronger. Yeah, that's right, next. Pali
Yeah, but iron oxide remains different in most ways from iron. The elf-burning included. ^_~
Dobson
Still has iron in the name....
jb5679
Iron x 2, oxygen atom x 3 so, rusted iron = 2/5 iron, hehe
random_clown
And it all doesn't matter anyway, because everyone wears gloves in the game, and gloves prevent exposure to the iron.
Zrothum
Not this iron. It's highly corrosive and eats through the gloves. Sheesh. Don't you people have an imagination?! hehe
Pali
And it all doesn't matter anyway' date=' because everyone wears gloves in the game, and gloves prevent exposure to the iron.[/quote'] That argument fails because elves can't pick up other iron objects. I'm sticking to the "too much rust!" theory. ^_~
Tom
Moot. That's a newbie shield, yes? Not all that great, right? Elementary. It's the size and shape of an old-school iron, but it's made of something else.
Pali
O_O That's it! The shield isn't made of iron, it is an iron!
Chromatic
It's like the mithril girth. When it's on the ground it looks like an iron girth.
BigMac
You're all missing the point. It's got a plastic handle. Dumbasses.
a-guitarist
rust= iron for those of you who slept through chemistry' date=' IRONOXIDE is rust, always and forever.[/quote'] Wait.... but the guy who sold me my new(used) car told me that, "It even comes with a high class Ironoxide coating which I'm only charging for an extra 200 bucks." I think you must be confused, Dobson. a-g
Raargant
You've got to be kidding. First of all, ironoxide simply is the chemical name of it; just because there is 'iron' in the name doesn't mean it is iron. Just like how dihydrogen monoxide is not hydrogen, because it has the word hydrogen in it; it's just water. Second of all, iron is an element. Oxygen is an element. Ironoxide is composed of both iron and oxygen. Why in the world would you claim that ironoxide is iron? Why not claim that it is oxygen? Both would be equally faulty. Ironoxide is no more iron than it is oxygen, and water is no more oxygen than it is hydrogen. When elements combine to form a compound, they are no longer that element, period. Jeeze. Learn a few things before trying to school others.
