Dobson
Your original thought was irrelevant, because you have no way to prove what your original thought was at all; for all I know, you might've originally thought iron was some sort of beer. The only substantive thing we have is your post, which is this: Which is wrong Therefore, no draw. I will, however, accept a gracious admission of defeat that you simply "did not express yourself and your position clearly enough." Bloody ****, aren't you supposed to be lying in a pile of rubble drunk off your arse? Graciously Admitted, if you respond to my ideas.
Celerity
yeah, didn't somebody say never to argue with fools because they'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience? wasn't there some paradox in physics that said: if a particle decays, it splits into two particles of opposite spins if these particles travel a distance of a few light years apart and one is measured, the opposite particle is also defined because the sums must equal zero, suggesting that there is communication between the particles that is faster than light speed. so translated into fl forum terms: raar and dobson are light years away from each other. Dobson is hoping that a draw (equal zero right?) can be reached because the distance between them is too far for communication. Unfortunately, raar is measured to be hella right, and this defines dobson to be hella wrong, despite the distance. zannen!

Marc
There are two different isotopes of iron ions' date=' Fe2+ and Fe3+, [/quote'] Just to say, that is the completely wrong use of the term isotope. They are ions of different valency. Isotopes are the same element (have the same number of protons) but have different numbers of neutrons eg, uranium 235 and uranium 238, carbon 12 and carbon 13, it has nothing to do with electrons. Don't argue with me, I'm a chemistry major Also, I've never heard of magnesium and sulfur being part of steel, as I understand it is an alloy of carbon and iron. As pure iron is relatively malleable, the carbon gives it rigidity. Other metals are also used to give the steel other properties. Stainless steel has chromium added to resist corrosion. Perhaps you're thinking of galvanised iron, where a layer of zinc (not magnesium) is used to protect the iron from oxidisation. Maybe the sulfur came from using it to vulcanise rubber, which makes it harder. Although I am open to correction for this one

Raargant
The game is a game, yes. But chemistry is chemistry. And Celerity+Marc, usually, often decaying particles are...drumroll? Radioactive isotopes! It all ties in so perfectly...
Marc
I'm not disputing that, I know that carbon 13 is a radioactive isotope of carbon, as the extra neutron makes it unstable. I was merely giving the definition of an isotope.

Raargant
I wasn't just agreeing, I was melding Dobson's mistake about isotopes, together with your exposition of that mistake, and Celerity's wonderful post about how great I am. Pali
You know marijuana is found to help those with alzeimers disease! Actually, there's research that's been done about the possibility of marijuana use enhancing the brain's ability to create neurons. Results were inconclusive, with the study done at one place using rats and a synthetic compound meant to mimic the way THC attaches to neural receptors showing increased brain cell production, whereas another study using real THC on rats showed no difference in brain cell production. At the very least, it's pretty solidly shown that THC doesn't KILL brain cells. ^_~
