bavarianbrew
Is it true that mounted combat only benefits those with that skill?
Acerbity
If I'm looking forward to either running, or chasing, I'll always be mounted, regardless if I'm a Paladin or not. Being mounted and flying at the same time gives you the maximum save at keeping more moves when chasing or running away.
Pali
If you are flying and mounted, you use moves like you are flying. If you are flying and not mounted, you use moves like you are flying. If you are not flying and mounted, you use moves like you are mounted. In other words, being both flying and mounted gives you no extra benefit than just flying.
Celerity
being mounted helps you resist lagging attacks..paladins to a much higher degree obviously.. it also hurts you...but how is a secret!
Pali
Makes sense that it would... being on top of an elephant would obviously have certain drawbacks in a fight. Granted, you'd think being on top of an elephant would mean you could just trample most of your enemies, but... that's reality. This is FL. We're hardcore. mya
The only people that benefit from lag protection mounted are Paladins. You are mistaking monks horse stance with being mouted. Being mounted hurts. Especialy a cleric trying to portal.
Lexi
I don't think anyone is mistaking anything with horse stance.
Raargant
Let's drop it here, eh guys? Oh, Pali, there IS a bonus to being both mounted and flying. You use moves like you are flying, but you regenerate moves like you are mounted, which is a considerable boost over unmounted.
Pali
Really? Never noticed that... hell, never noticed that moves regen better while mounted. Thanks!

Chayesh
You are mistaking monks horse stance with being mounted. I don't think anyone is mistaking anything with horse stance. I certainly never pictured that when I pictured a monk in horse stance... Being mounted hurts. Especialy a cleric trying to portal. This sentence is just so very wrong in oh so many ways... Iusedtobesomebody
there's just not too many sentences that include the words "mounted" and "horse" that can be good.

MysticR
So is that a cry for help, Dey? That reply sounded quite defensive.
Deykari
It wouldn't be a cry for help would it? I'm English - that means I live within at least 2 miles of a farmyard. Which means that any such fantasies that may arise during my life would be very easily satisfied. Dey

Archbishop Monk
If you are flying and mounted, you use moves like you are flying. If you are flying and not mounted, you use moves like you are flying. If you are not flying and mounted, you use moves like you are mounted. mya
My reply about the horse stance was for Celerity. Perhaps Chayesh can also understand. Its all about the fountain of the knolage. And missreading it. I blame the GNS system. Anyway, if you guys played a good cleric you would learn the pain that is trying to escape someone chasing you, communing portal at low HP's and have it fail because you cant ride the horse inside the portal. Its almost as trying to gate as a healer while being dirted.
Grishnak
the portal thing is a simple fix, set up an alias to dismount before you commune portal every time you cast the spell.
Chayesh
I just thought the words 'cleric trying to portal' shouldn't appear in any sentence containing the words "Being mounted hurts."
Iusedtobesomebody
no wonder she can't cast the spell... that would be VERY distracting.
Lexi
Yup. Mounting up before trying to portal isn't a good idea.
