Halo

Alright I am currently having a hudge debat with everyone on the face of the planet over this right now but it started with me and my roomate one day for no apparent reason arguing back and forth about the best video game ever and for some reason he said Halo. Which I totally do not agree with and to be honest am having a really hard time seeing why people think that is because plan and simple the game didnt do really anything for me I mean its an alright game but the story really wasnt that special I mean the first one did kinda have an ok story but the second one didnt really do anything at all for me the story was terrible, gameplay wasnt that much better the weapon changes for the most part stunk the AI really wasnt improved at all and heck even the graphics were the same. I mean besides the fact that Halo kinda has an alright multi-player as long as you have 4+ people playing. But over all why people think Halo is such a wonderful game I really dont know there are several games that did everything Halo did and more but havent been congrated for it. Now I'm not saying Halo isnt an alright game and I've got nothing against people who think it is a really good game but what I can't stand is how most people I know think Halo is the only true game and that all games that came before Halo were nothing and all games that came after Halo are nothing it just kinda makes me laugh all in all.

I've probably played Halo more than any other person on these

forums, and I love the game to a whole other level. But its not

the best game ever made, not even close. Alot of things must be

taken in to consideration when deciding the best. First off, there

can't be one. Every gamer has their own selective gaming style,

their own interest in how they like to play. This also is what makes

gaming such a great thing, because there are games that appeal to

everyone. If a game was made to fit all the needs of every gamer,

the game would suck. No one would play it, because it has too much

going on. There never will be a "Best video game ever." Just what you

view to be the best in your eyes.

Halo 2 is WAY better than Halo 1. The AI hadn't improved?! Thats retarded. You play it on legendary? If you don't, then you suck. Now, I'm not saying its the GREATEST game of all time, but its damned good. I won't even begin to think about what I think the greatest game is, cause it would take longer than I have, but when I do have time to think, I'll drop it here.

I dont know to be honest Halo just didnt really do it for me and its not that I have anything against First person shooters dont get me wrong I much more enjoy a good old Final Fantasy RPG any day of the week over Halo but even from the first person shooter stand point it really wasnt that good of a game the story wasnt really anything new all it is, is basically another Alien story with a slightly different plot. The only thing I really have to thank Halo for is the control settings which several games have picked up on and taken since but plainly I miss the days of Goldeneye.

Agreed, but I can say the same thing about RPG's and I play them

as much as FPS's, but RPG are pretty much,(fight against all odds,

get the girl, lose the girl, fight against all odds to get her back, save

the world:end 60 hours of awesomeness) but its all in how they present

it in the story board, which Square has always been good at.

i prefer time splitters: future perfect to halo. better weapons (although no sword, i LOVE the sword) and 150 different characters to pick from. we play this when we want to shoot the crap out of things.

best game ever? hrmmmm. my personal opinion (based on the amount of time i put into the game playing)... ff7. i played the hell out of it.

That I will agree with I thought Time Splitters was such a better game than Halo so many more weapons so many more playable charecters and so many more in game options. But favorite game ever thats a though one FF7 was a really great game that I have played and played and played again I have easily played through that game 15 times plus (I really didnt have much a life growing up that and I was homeschooled) but Finaly Fantasy Tactics I really liked that is up there on the greatest game ever sheet in my book at least.

Homeschooled for the win. Thats why I was able to play so many RPG.

Not alot to do when your sitting at home all day.

My problem with the GBA version of Tactics is that it was made for such a younger audiance I mean the whole game is about a little boy who believe it or not gets put into a book by the name of "Final Fantasy" so the story line was a little childish. Plus the entire game was like mission based kinda like FFX-2. So that was kinda lame however the original story was really great plus it put an interesting twist on the Zodiac signs.
