Mister E
That was what outlaw used to be. That was also before outlaw status/wanted status could be revoked. Right, thats why people are getting outlawed more quickly than before, and thats fine. I just wanted to throw in my 2 pennies about what should lead to being wanted/outlawed and since so many people brought up disprespecting the tribunals I wanted to point out that disrespecting them isnt always a crime. Warpnow
Wow...you guys want a level of balance even when its unrealistic. Like Raargant said about pissing on King Arthur's leg, would it be fair for them to capture you and torture you for hours and hours on end. Does it matter? The world isn't always fair, which is why you have to be smart. If I won an award and got to meet the president, would I bring a prop gun with me? Would the 10 years they gave me in prison be fair? No, but if I was that ****ing stupid, do I deserve it? YES! Be smart, not fair. The way I see it, Tribunals using their powers leniantly is entirely up to them. Good law of life, Someone will always do whatever is necessary to protect his own position, power and luxuries. If you invade upon that area, then you can't expect him to be "fair". I mean, you attack my thief while we are grouped and I run away...do you expect me to come back and challenge you? Hell no, I am going to come to you, blackjack you, take everything, klill you and give all your eq to some level 10 elf cleric. If PK isn't always fair, why should RP be? If murder isn't fair, why should diplomacy be? There is never only one form of power. There are many forms. When you can't fight back with physical strength, you fight back with influence. diplomacy or many other forms of power. It isn't cheap...its to be expected. If you want to take the risk of challenging the person who holds the detenator to the bomb around your waist, I applaud you, and depending on your skills, maybe you'll win, but you better be strong enough. Mister E
Its one thing to piss on the president or king arthur. (also peeing is like defecating in the sense that it is that sort of excrement.) But Tribunals are not Kings and Queens, they are jo bloes keeping up the law. If I can spit on a non tribunal elf cuz I happen to hate elves, why cant I spit on a tribunal elf cuz I hate elves? Of course this is all hypothetical. Liek I said, the elf should then retalitate by killing you withtou mercy, but should they put you in jail or make you an outlaw for it, thats the question. edit: K i just realized tribunals are also a mix of royals now...so I suppose they are closer to kings than peasants..I think my point is still semi valid in that you can do a certain amount of bashing within the law, and it would be unethical for the tribunal to throw the book at you and more ethical for them to just get you outside of town and tear you a new one. Zavero
Tribunals remind me of when I was in the military. They are split into two factions, Justice and Royal. Reminds me of, Enlisted and Officer. The enlisted are kind of your more hands on, get everything done. The officers are more like the guys in the back scene's directing and taking charge where necessary. If you screw up, both enlisted and officer can propose a punishment. As both factions of tribunals can. If you walk up and spit on an enlisted man, the punishment would be severe. However, if you walked up and spit on an officer, you can garentee the punishment would be more severe than an enlisted. Because they deem more respect for their position. I think if you screw around with a tribunal, if they are the justice(enlisted) faction, they should just make you wanted/jail time/death. If you screw with a royal(officer) then sure, why not get outlawed? They are Royal's, isn't that comparable to royality? I am not for sure, I haven't played FL very long. Mister E
Yeah, but thats assuming you are a soldier within the ranks. Outsiders may not respect their authority, thus the taunting/name calling/or whatever. Even though the Officer can make a recuits life a living hell, if some avid antiwar civilian spit on the officer in the street he could punch him in the nose but he couldnt get him arrested or killed. edit: I do agree though that any kind of pissing, crapping, and even spitting on a tribunal deserves jail time, you are inflicting his body with unwanted stuff in a lawful place. But free speach is alwasy in effect even in FL (i think) so you should be allowed to say many many things to them that would irritate them, but not get you outlawed or put in jail. Of course things like "screw the cops, screw the law, Ill never stop comitting crimes etc.." should get you warranted, and if you act on them, outlawed. ajwetton
You are looking at the outlaw status like the old ones. where you were made an outlaw after breaking the laws so many times. These outlaws are being made outlaw by exiling not for crimes exile makes you an exile which techinally makes you an outlaw since your not allowed in the towns or protected by them. The COUNCIL is the one doing the exiling and the Council are royalty like the old royals. so its all just fine and dandy the way it is, Piss of a royal or council member and they don't have to have a reason they just have to hate you and not want you in their city. Now I do somewhat agree that there should be an exile flag and an outlaw flag. but until the imms change it thats the way they have it set up. MeleeCrazy
i want to see someone play a troublemaker not like murdering everyone but like being drunk in public and refusing to sheath..i can just imagine it BIG OGRE pokes pominsu repeatedly in the chest while sluriing the words NO SQUID GOONA MAKE ME SHEATH MY WEAPON! Some one that could be the town's drunk always in the slammer for pety stuff, but even though he's always in some kinda of pety trouble everyone loves him anyways even the tribunals. They just lock 'em up and when he's released they're all like That's so and so for yah...and laugh a little about it. I think it would be great rp if you could get them to play along.. Pali
O_O FL monarchies in a world of constant death, destruction, and war would give a damn about the people's wants? Free speech is something that a Royal should be able to trample you for!
Nightmare_from_hell
Think of it as spitting on a cop. You spit on a cop they can arrest you right then and there for disorderly conduct. (I believe that's what they classify it as...) You can yell and scream ALMOST all you want at a cop and they really can't do nothing about it, but once you cross the line and make contact with them, they can view that as a threat and arrest you. Grim_Reefer
Yeah but still... first offense I got outlawed, exiled, executed, and then later, got locked up, executed, AND they took all my stuff from me, and then for some reason everything in my locker was gone as well... so its like damn . Vengeance will be mine Tribunal! Mark my words!!!

Raargant
And nor is the fl forum. That's right. Being a jackass or an *** hole is legal in a democracy, but it'll get you expelled here very quickly. Any more questions?
Raargant
Oh, and the locker thing sounds buggy to me. Please add it to the prayer forums.
Acerbity
Now thinking about it, it is buggy. I've located things on people and have had them tell me, "No, that's in my locker, not on me." And thinking about the whole losing everything as an outlaw.. yeah. That needs to definately be looked into.
