Valforian
I never really watched any anime period before except for the movie akira which I thought was badass, but my roommate just received all of the episodes of dragon ball ever made (through perfectly legal means of course;) ) three weeks ago, and I have 15 episodes left. This is one of the sweetest, most addictive shows ever made I swear... right now I am watching Krillin fight piccolo jr. anyways just wanted to share my love for this show. MysticR
Let's beat the dead horse and ride it an extra mile for fun. How many DB/Z characters does it take to change a light bulb? Only one, but it takes three episodes.
jb5679
The only anime I ever watched was the original Record Of Loddoss Wars (not the current series going on), and I loved it
Fear, the Angel's Name
DAMN IT, Mystic! I was going to say that EXACT joke. I hate Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball anything. Whatever. I hate that show. It's ridiculous. But for some reason I am absolutely crazy about Trigun. Possibly because it doesn't suck.

BFTP
I never really got into how half of each DBZ episode was some guy with yellow hair screaming as he powered up. Too much yelling.
Fiere
I dunno what you're talking about. That's what I do when I power up.
Valforian
Are you watching the Funimation english dubs' date=' or japanese with english subtitles?[/quote'] English dubs, I get pissed every once in a while whenever I know they are talking about something completely different yet what comes out of their mouth is way off. Behrens
DBZ is the classic "intro to anime" that we all go through. It's a phase, let him get over it. He will learn, and come to the ways of: Trigun (Legato is the greatest villain ever. EVER) Fate/Stay Night (Because Saber is awesome) and, of course Cowboy Bebop (Because it is just the best anime ever created) Disagreement will be met with slays. Streetfighter
Anyone can be a super saiyan. Just rub bananas in your hair, and scream pointlessly at nothing for hours on end.
Pali
Also not an anime fan in the slightest... can't stand the animation style. Know plenty of fans though, and none would say DBZ is a good anime.
screaming sayoonara
i have a special place in my heart for dragon ball because I remember, as a wee little lad, waking up SUPER early on saturday mornings to catch the back to back episodes at 7. The nimbus cloud is the shiz. Then followed DBZ and so on...still love 'em... yes, there are WAY better anime shows out there...but dragon ball has the nostalgia factor. a-guitarist
Waking up and watching Anime? When you were a young kid? I remember waking up at seven to watch TMNTs, Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, the REAL G.I. Joe, and other such quality programming. But Anime?! I guess that just says how "old" I am, or at least how unhip I am. But in the immortal words of Huey Lewis and the News, It's hip to be square. a-g
corpsestomp
Anyone else remember David the Gnome, on (I think) Nickelodeon? God I loved that show...and I wasn't really allowed to watch Power Rangers, or TMNT, mom thought it'd make me and my 2 brothers violent.
a-guitarist
CRAP! I forgot about David the Gnome! That was a great show! What else was on after that? It wasn't as good, but it was still pretty amazing. a-g

Fear, the Angel's Name
Did David the Gnome have a big red fox in the show? And the gnomes all had pointy hats? One of them wore blue and had a red hat?

That's how I first got really exposed to anime, saw Tenchi Muyo in Love one night and got hooked. Of course I'd seen Speed Racer, Tranzor(sp?) Z, Voltron, and a few other cheesy 80's dubs, but that was before I knew there was a difference between Japanese and American animation. My favorite toon though is still The Tick.
