dragonforger17
Alright got a friend that wants to play Forsaken lands however he wants to know to what a good starting combination is. One that will be able to get him decent with roleplay and pk. I just told him to make a human anything and that should get him started. Just wondering what would be a good idea for him and other people new to the game.
Zavero
Cleric or healer. Good suvivability and good pk starter. ID and locate good to learn items.
Chromatic
I say a giant cleric, either way. Very survivable and don't get bashed around as much by those people trying to go undead and such at 30.
Celerity
adventurer! Then remort as whatever he wants to play, because having fun is the most important first step to addiction.
L-A
Human battlemage or human cleric. Battlemages are more fun. Its a trade off between him being a ogre/giant melee and having it easy early on or being a mage/cleric type and getting it a bit easier once he gets into the 40s and lvl 50. If he's just going to delete at lvl 30 and do something else, go the melee. L-A
Deykari
adventurer! Then remort as whatever he wants to play' date=' because having fun is the most important first step to addiction.[/quote'] That's what I always advise. Playing something you're not really interested in for the sake of it being a survivable combo/power combo doesn't appeal to me because you might well end up getting bored and deleting/rage deleting if it's not something you're interested in. You'll learn a lot more (IMO) by just picking what you want to play, anything at all as long as you think you'll have fun playing it, and play it out. Maybe you won't learn whole lot in terms of PK, but unless you're from other MUDs I don't think that's a big concern for your first character unless you're a very fast learner. jb5679
i don't recommend battlemage. They absolutely blow till 45+, clerics are solid thoroughout. Clerics I'd recommend with an adventurer remort into them.
Kyzarius
adventurer! Then remort as whatever he wants to play' date=' because having fun is the most important first step to addiction.[/quote'] yes adventurer, give shim a chance to explore with no pk worries, and see what other classes are capable of through hunting.. make a neutral human adv, then remort. Belegriel
good human adventurer remort to goody cleric for ease of exploring, ease of survivability and ease of getting groups for ranking to 50 when he's ready.
Valforian
Dark Knight I say, it will be a breeze up to the mid 30s, and you learn how to use a balanced mix of afflicts, mals, melee, with a tiny bit of buffs in there, you can buy scrolls to identify, and if he sticks with it and decides to try and pinn he will learn how to control charmies too, and if he wants to make use of his most powerful spell he will have to do a lot of exploring... just dont tell your friend the secret its soo much more exciting when you figure it out yourself. He will learn a lot with a dark knight I think up to fifty then he'll prolly die a lot because they are a bitch to have then... I have had around 5 human DKs and one demon that made it at least to 45 and every single time I learn soo much with em.
random_clown
My first character was a bard. I highly recommend it. However, I wasn't new to muds, as I had played AR in first/second age, but I was new to FL last year. If they have no experience with muds, something survivable is good. If they are not completely oblivious to mud pvp, etc, I would go for something that has the ability to explore well and suits at least a mild interest for them. Identify is the one spell I would say that any character they make have.
Questioner
Healer....why do you think they still allow it to be a class?
Goomf
Ninja. The addiction of this game for noobies is the pk prospective. Nothing infuriates people more than having a noob assassinate them.
