Questioner
When it is grey most likely you are attacking one mob, while everyone else is damaging a second mob. So: Group1: mauls mob1 Group2: decimates mob1 You: graze ubermob1
WagesofSin
Ya, grey means they are not attacking the same target that you are.

Deykari
Any damage that I do to others or groupmates do to the same mob is gold (except not gold, and a bit more like Fiere's description). Any damage done to me is dark red. Any damage done to groupmates is gray. Any damage that my groupmates do to a different mob than the one I fight is gray. That's how mine goes. Mudder
I remember when there used to be no differentiation in colors for damage... It was so damn confusing when someone attacked your group. Lol.
WagesofSin
Ya, FL has really well thought out coloration. Not only for damage but for areas as well.
WarriorCleric
I remember when there used to be no differentiation in colors for damage... It was so damn confusing when someone attacked your group. Lol. Sigh, It was so much easier to kill a group then. Wait till they attack three nymphs, go in and kill the support first... Not that I did much killing back then, I was usually the second guy killed. Ah, the days. WC
Behrens
Ya' date=' FL has really well thought out coloration. Not only for damage but for areas as well.[/quote'] Pretty sure that's Crypt's doing. But yes, FL is an excellently planned MUD in that respect. Chayesh
what ever happened to adding MSP to the game? I don't even remember what administration was talking about it. Mudder
MSP? Whats that? And WC... I was the first one killed back then
myrek
MSP = Mud Sound Protocol. Simply, you download a set of tiny audio files to your client. The mud sends triggers to make the client play the sound. Doors creaking open or slamming shut, etc.
Dizz
I used to have a sound trigger to moo at me anytime I did an UNSPEAKABLE... Search your PC for .wav files that might have come with other games. They are fun to put in as triggers. PacMan noises are particularly funny when you do damage. elfdude
MSP would actually be pretty sweet, im sure if somebody actually tryed they could make one pretty easily.
myrek
the problem you run into is the question of how much sound do you add. I added sound using zMud triggers... once. I made a short, amusing sound for each of my monk's attacks. it was very bad kung fu movie. I lagged my pos computer so bad that it almost killed me. you want sound? hum the indiana jones theme song while you play. it's safer that way. Jester
it depends on your mud client, what color your text is, you can actually customise the colors in sum mude clients. but grey is usually a catchall for not hitting whatever you are.
