i remember getting forum banned for having a marijuana leaf as an avatar. now we've got grim reefer and TSP, whose names are in reference to drugs, and we've got people who, from time to time, make references to drugs. (elfdude, pali, etc.) i'm not a drug advocate, nor do i condone the use of drugs. i'm pretty sure, however, the majority of the pbase is mature enough to handle a drug reference from time to time. our players aren't THAT young. we've all been exposed to it. grow up.

Just like alcohol, marijuana used in moderation will not ruin your life. I regularly test my ability to function without it, and find that it is not impaired whatsoever. I am not addicted. I use it as a recreational intoxicant similarly to how I use alcohol. I see no reason why responsible use of marijuana is any more likely to damage me than responsible alcohol use, when all the medical research shows that marijuana is less damaging to the body and less addictive, not to mention impossible to overdose on. I've done my homework. Don't worry about me until you've done yours.

I've never met someone who smoked pot that didn't know everything about it. Most of the time, I think the facts are pulled straight outta their ***, because I hear time and time again that "Man, it's good for you, you should try it again. You just need to stay away from Sativa, and go for Davarium, different highs, man." And, my all time favorite, "It actually grows brain cells."

Oh, and please don't take this as me telling you, Pali, or anyone else, that they don't know what they're talking about. From my conversations with you guys, I've got a good hint that you DO know what you're talking about. I'm just making an observation that 95% of those who smoke it assume to know more about it than the next person who doesn't, when they've probably gotten their information from people who have no degrees, have done no research, and have only heard it from someone else... probably while both high. And the only difference between those who smoke and it and don't, in this case, are that the ones getting their information about pot who don't smoke weren't high at the time.

That all being said, I know about dick about it.
