Mister E
Yeah, young kids cursing isnt that funny. But sometimes it can be, anyone seen the movie belly? remember that video playing in DMX's house with the messed up cowboy kids?
FatMike
young kids cursing is hilarious. They don't know what it means and they aren't harming anyone or meaning anything bad by saying it. I don't mean dropping f-bombs every other sentence like I do but a few of the other more widely used ones like d*** or h*** and it's funny. Especially the look on the parents face!
Mister E
I prefer more witty humour, these days it seems like everyone swears allt eh time, sorta lost its cache, though I will admit it can make you laugh when it comes unexpectadly. Dizz
I teach my kids to be creative if they have to insult. In place of ***hole : You slimy toad licking mule, etc. Kind of like Chevy Chase's rant in Christmas Vacation. Now THAT is creative!
Warpnow
Ah, cursing for the point of cursing isn't good, but what other word could I have used there that would have been even half as funny???? And if you believe cursing is wrong on a moral basis, it wouldn't matter if it was a kid doing it, or an adult. You can say act as I say, not as I do, but all that is a useless ramble that has never actually worked, because people do as you do, if your a role model, not as you say, because they are looking at who you ARE, not who you want to be, and if it isn't worth your time to be the person you say they should be, why should they make their time int doing it? Raargant
Because people who can say things like "Do as I say, not as I do," generally have the ability to make life very unpleasant for those who do not do as they say. On the opposite side, those who don't do as he says, has little or no ability to do the same to him. It's all about power. A la, a cop says to the criminal, "Don't cuss at me, #@#!@#." Do you think it's wiser for the criminal to just keep his mouth shut, or cuss back because the cop did so? Aaaall about power. Sexy, sexy power. Yer talkin' about moral suasion. But don't neglect coercive power as well.
Dizz
After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring. He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him... The moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut.
