jb5679
Mention must be made regarding this considering how much I think about this and don't wish to tell any of my friends or family. This world(Earth, not FL), in my opinion, has found itself in a stalemate of worth, seeing merely one, at max, per 1-2 generations of TRUELY making a difference. I look to myself and to my friends and am forced to wonder, what's the purpose? (No, this is not a suicide note or something stupid like that)

I look to myself and to my friends and am forced to wonder, what's the purpose? (No, this is not a suicide note or something stupid like that) I exist, therefore I am. That and I make the people around me happy. That's enough of a difference for me. It starts small and builds itself up as it goes on. The little butterfly that fluttered its wings on one side of the world started the hurricane on the opposite side....etc....
Grishnak
People make a difference in the world every day. What "generation" ever did anything truly worthwhile that didn't come down to passionate and great individuals? These sorts of individuals exist in every lifetime, and they do great things every day. I don't necessarily mean the great leaders we've looked to, but the teachers and the people who have given their lives to the cause of helping those around them. Those people who believe that the greatest thing one can do in their lifetime is to positively influence those around them. Those are the people who are truly great, and they have existed since the beginning of time. Today's world is filled with common acts of great evil and intolerance, but it is also filled with so much good when you get down and look at it. Thanks to the 24/7 shock media we hear all about the gruesome and twisted people in this world, because that's what draws and holds our attention. How often do we hear about the great and noble people of the world sacrificing themselves for others, or devoting their lives to feeding and clothing the homeless? If anything is sad in our world its that people are drawn more to the corruption of society as entertainment than they are to the bastions of hope. Sorry about the rant, but it's something about which I believe strongly.

jb5679
People of a specific talent and worth are mentioned. Their worth presented and danced. Those anti, opposite affect. I mention mainly that, yes, there are many that change lives during the year, teachers, doctors, etc. and so forth. But a millenium from now, will they be remembered? Unlikely, a rare occurence to hold such thought and even rarer in today's venue. Technologies of this modern day world diminishes the power of heroes and saviors. Stupid time concepts. My head's hurting....I can see where this is gonna go.
jb5679
I hope you don't think this is going to stem into some kind of flame, I've been dealing with these battles in my mind for months and finally voiced them.

I've had many similar thoughts in my time. And have had them voiced to me before. There are several venues this can go down. The possibilities are nearly endless....it's like handing Behrens six new races and nine new classes and asking him what he can do with it all.... Please, continue! I understand you want to get this out.
