Anyone tried everquest II? I just bought the new set, with all previous expansions, with the echoes of faydwar, the newest one. I always thought WoW was too cartoony. Everquest II is the most beautiful game I've ever played, and I've tried all of the fantasy mmorpgs. except warhammer. is that out yet?

Now i'm rambling. my point is - drop WoW, get EQII. it's better.

EDIT: oh, and i dont care if everyone is against me, I stand by this. I've played both to the top ranks, with at least 3 classes.

Ok, I finally had to break my Diablo LoD and Diablo 2 discs into pieces to get away from that game. I could not be more addicted if I smoked crack, snorted coke, and shot meth into my arm while drinking a red bull. I hate MMOs all of them. They are grounds for cheaters, hackers, thieves, and not to mention YOU HAVE TO PAY TO PLAY THE DAMN THINGS AFTER YOU BUY THEM! Im sorry for yelling guys.

I'm sorry, but your Experiance with Diablo leaves no means for you to compare them to MMO's.

Diablo = Free = Hackers and Cheaters.

MMO's = Pay = Protection from Hackers and Cheaters.

To have fun with constant patches and fixes and expansions and not have to deal with cheaters/greifers I will gladly pay $15 a month. Why? because I have FUN and it's a hobby. Golfing was more expensive to do then play an MMO.

Oh and Vanguard Graphics > EQII by ALOT.

I'm not even going to bother to read all of this thread, but I thought I'd throw in my two cents anyway. I've never played any of the online whatever thingies, and I've only even seen WOW played once (ironically enough, on a date when the girl had hurt her foot) and while the date was fun, WOW itself looked interesting, but without depth. I think the main problems I would have with it would be in RP and PK. I severely doubt you would get the RP level I find here on any of the graphic thingies. Now, this wouldn't be that much of a problem, except that it also seems to me that the PK aspect is sorely lacking. What, you can only pk at certain times and certain places? That's ridiculous. I mean, at least here you've only got the level range restriction, which makes perfect sense.

Hmm maybe I'll try a different server. I know that I'm gonna make a new character once BC comes out...

I'm actually preparing to transfer a lot of eq from my higher ups to my lower ones. At the moment, tauren shamans are a lot of fun. Human paladins are decent, but I don't like how long hammer of justice takes.

I might make a blood elf paladin or blood elf mage. Seems pretty wicked. Any server recommendations?

FL's pretty boring. In fact, all muds are pretty boring now. 'Sides, I already tried all combinations that I want to try. If I were to play FL, it wouldn't really be about pk or the challenge of it, but rather to create some new rp thing. Funny thing is, I was well on my way to that when I got a new computer and started WoW.

Muds in general are old for me. I started playing Btech in 6th grade, went to AR in 8th grade, went to FL in 12th grade/beginning of college, and went to CF around junior/sophomore in college. Been mudding for about a decade. Way too long.

Yeah, I've been mudding for just as long I think... wow. I've also played a bunch of MMO's - everquest, WoW... etc. And while I get into these hack and slash-games-in-disguise, not a single one has ever lasted. I tend to just go right back to muds to satisfy any fantasy gaming needs I may have. For me, the other stuff just doesn't hold as much water. I will say this about WoW though - its definitely much easier to "get somewhere" in this game than in some other MMO's out there. While I don't think any of these types of games are made for the casual gamer, WoW, in my opinion, comes closest.

Well, I plan to go to grad school in a year or two. I know for a fact that I won't have any time to indulge myself in any computer games. I also know for a fact that after I graduate, I'll be working 60-80 hours a week.

Since I've played mud for such a long time, added to the fact that I recently got a new computer with a kickass video card, I thought that I'd tire myself out of computer games. That's why I'm playing WoW (which is already getting somewhat repetitive) and I'm probably gonna buy NWN2.

I like EVE for that very reason.... It's casual Gamer friendly.

No matter how much you play.. you level as fast as anyone else.

I log on and say decide to train missles IV. Its going to take 2 days 12 hours. Ok. So a few days go buy and missiles IV is done, I train Rapid Fire II which is going to take me 1 hour 23 minsutes, but DAMN I have to log off and go out of town for a week! I am going to fall behind! NOT. I turn on trianing for Missiles V instead, it's going to take 18 days to train, I then log off and guess what? IT trains will I'm LOGGED OUT! YEAH!
