Malform weapon and lower Kills ratio

Ok, we all know malforms and how DK weapons grow with each kill and can also lose power with the player deaths.

I'm not interested in discussing current powers, but their growth and how we can adapt this class to current times.

I don't think full malforms should be easy, but I also think that every player should have the chance to experience them.

Zrothum raised the point that current kills requirements are to heavy for what even Cabal leaders attain together.

And I think DK's malforms incentive trash PK, which could also be dealt with.

Without going into current mechanics, I wished to expose the following idea.

  1. Malforms should be available to every Player to experience, even players with negative PK ratios.

  2. Malforms should be hard to fully malform, and even be considered elites.

  3. Death on malform should be penalized.

  4. Each death should be a progress. A reward. Kills with no improvement on the weapon should be avoided at all costs.

  5. Crusaders aren't DK, Holy weapons aren't malforms and shouldn't be compared to them here, or have one limit the other because X does it this way, so Y should also do it the same.

  6. Malforms are owner weapons, they are your character baby, a RL huge investment, an extention of your RP and should never ever be destroyed.

  7. Full Malforms should be attainable.

  8. Malforms should be above all cool, something the brings something to the game, not detracts from it.

  9. We always did this way, is no excuse to not do it differently today, and again differently tomorrow.

So here is what I mainly propose.

Malforms have 10 levels.

Each Kill grants you one level except for 10.

Level 9 to 10 requires 3 kills to attain, and you attain a fully malform weapon.

Death doesn't reduced your malform level lower than L6.

Each death reduces your malform level back to L6.

When you attain a L10 malform you can only be reduced to L9 on death forever as a reward for you fully malforming that weapon.

Owner, NoSac and Burnprof should be granted at L1 or L2. Not higher.

What I also suggest:

Weapon should become named at L6.

L6 or naming should give a global message and a real cool COLOURFUL emote.

Perhaps a ranking of some sort should be kept of malforms, like Tribunal/Syndicate stuff.

Each Level should grant +1/+1 hit/dam.

There should be a average damage dice increasing before L6. And Another after.

Weapon damage type should only change after L6.

Before L6 it should auto-cast some minor spell based on religion, not RNG Chance.

Random spells allocation should never exist. This should be based on weapon type or Religion.

Why this?

Because I want players like Valek and Magick who have bad PK ratios to enjoy Malforms. To allow them to strive for something.

Because I want incentivize Veterans that they don't need to trash PK to enjoy a malform.

Because I want Elite player who attain a L10 malform to not lose hope on gaining it again.

Because I want players to choose having two lower level malforms or a one high level malform.

Because I want players to realize that cabal warfare is a plus to leveling their malform.

Because I don't want players to delete just because someone sacrifized/blown their malform.

Because I want to aid player to not ruin other players fun by destroying/sac their malforms.

Because I want to keep them motivated that each kill will bring them something.

Because I want malforms to be integrated into a chars RP, without it ever going away.

Because I want to even low PK ratio PKers to feel special when they hit the first Tier L6. And give a goal for the Elite PKers.

Because I want Slayers DK, to exist. I want some DK to malform a lower avg water weapon and be a Dwarven Slayer while being handicapped vs other races.

Because I want to see Dwarven Slayer run arround with Urist-Bane, the polearm of Dwarf massacre.

Above all I want people to think, I can do this in a DK, I just have to live long enogh. To say "I will enjoy playing a DK", and not to stress out.

You have some misconceptions about how malforms work CURRENTLY since we changed both sader and dk weapons a while back (2 years maybe).

  • from level 4 on, a dk's weapon is oowner, that means it will stay with them when they die and it will NOT DRAIN when they die (at all), you only need 3 level 50 kills to get there

  • you can already name a malform at level 6

  • count for full malform has been reduced from formerly 34 kills to 25 already

-overall malforms grow a lot faster in the lower levels, so it's much easier to attain let's say a level 6 now than it was before

 


 

With the above in mind, do you still have suggestions?

Full malforms are not something I want everyone to have access to.  Just sayin.  Have you ever fought a full malform DK?  Those things practically do the fighting for you.  I think they chase too!  :D

Murder round from the weapon, with all the Malform proc nastiness.

"Dying-Tired" the Hand of Chaos flies east.

Repeat at the top of each tic if the DK and victim are in the same area.

IF that happens I would not stop rolling dks.

Even if I got that 10th level of malform weapon at my last live. I (it) will hunt you down!
