WagesofSin
I've been comparing a human invoker to an elven one and it seems that the human loses out in every way. The elf has higher base mana and hp than the human. You would think that humans, having a higher con, would at least have better base HP but that just isn't so. The elf learns spells/skills for 1 practice while the human has to spend 2, resulting in the elf having higher base HP because he can pump trains into it. Add in the elven dex and then the elf even has better defenses! So am I correct in understanding that humans caster are complete gimps at lvl 50? Deykari
Nah, you've got it all wrong. Drow Clerics rely on their spells a lot more. FG clerics use their melee to help. Elf Invokers rely on their spells a lot more. Human Invokers rely on their melee a lot more. Dey

Deykari
You don't have to apologise, even if it was a flame. We Brits generally smother ourselves in gravy and mashed potato as an extra underlayer of clothing. It would take a considerable amount of verbal abuse to penetrate a thick layer of lumpy, half-dried British gravy, believe me. I'm all for the promotion of a healthy atmosphere of banter. WagesofSin
Back on topic: Even if there was a human BMG that owned everyone, that doesn't address the issue I am bringing up: It is better to go non-human in almost every case when it comes to casters. If that Human BMG you guys noted above were a Drow, then I'm sure he would of owned even more.
TheNewGuy
Much mana and autosneak with phat XP-pen vs no XP-pen. Make your choice. When it comes to invokers humans really blows because of a certain skill, though.

Goomf
Upsides of human mages: no xp penalties, can go neutral. That no XP penalty applies to any humans. Unless you're going for a qclass, that perk is the most important decision to choose human from a pk perspective. Problem is that everyone views pk from a level 50 point of view. It's also wayyy too easy to get to level 50. Not to mention the fact that if a level 50 picks on level 42 and 43 the community will bitch and whine, even though that's one of the PRIMARY reasons to go human. If you want to play objectively, go human mage and pick off those scrawny lowbies. Poplin was a human bmage btw.

Mister E
There is also rp to consider. IMO just being an elf is a huge rp penalty, you have to be a flaming homo for starters, thats never fun. Also, elves have a vuln, perhaps it isnt a major exploitable one, but when rogues start throwin iron daggers/shurikens/cards at you you might wish you were human. Of course the alignment thing is there too which was mentioned as a factor.

Unless you're going for a qclass, that perk is the most important decision to choose human from a pk perspective. Disagreed, but you were right on track. The ability to be neutral is the biggest reason to be a human, hands down. A neutral invoker/battlemage means that you can't be protected against, effectively giving you a damage bonus. There are other choices for a neutral caster, of course, but humans are certainly viable. Also, human is a big choice for evils hoping to get a quest reward in 3 different scenarios as a mage.
